Must one read Stormwatch beforehand in order to fully appreciate The Authority?

I would say nah, i mean you would miss a bit of history, and some names thrown around, but Stormwatch isn't even made up of The Authority, mostly WildCAT''s. It isn't until Warren Ellis takes over near the end of vol1 are the Authority teams intro'd.

Vol1 of the Authority is great, there are some good stories ish in the later volumes, but nothing really feels co-hesive (they are still leaps and bounds better than shitt* justice league or avengers or any team for that matter), it isn't until the Abbnet and Lanning run do they really pull together.

If you're reading the Authority, you MUST read Planetary, but ONLY after vol1 of The Authority. (to get a better scope of the world that Ellis created)

I had read the first few issues and then fell off. What I had read was good, but I get sidetracked a lot. May pick it back up eventually, upon recommendation. Is it still going strong?

IDW don't get enough love. They make some fun simple reads. Ghostbusters could of used more character driven storylines it was too simple, but still was fun. TMNT is amazing, and the reboot origin story is really well done.

Atomic Robo is one of the best fun comics I've read in a while. Still ongoing, back catalog available online at the creator's website.

I could take or leave the other titles, but then again, IDW published Locke and Key, which I'd say is far and away the best comic book of the past ten years.

I love IDW. TMNT, G I joe and back to the future are my favorites. I preordered TMNT/Batman #1 a while back I think its out next week looking forward to it. Comes with the original cover, a blank variant and the Kevin Eastman 1:50 variant. Hopefully I can find someone to do a sketch on the blank.

Planetary is my favorite main stream comic book of all time.

Warren Ellis will never top what he did on that maxi series.

I thought it was pretty good. Aaron is a fantastic writer. Hits the small town feel to a tee.

Yea, TMNT is great. I already bought the idw ultimate collection vol 1. Vol 2 is coming out February.

Just ordered the 52 omnibus and the first ultimate collection trade whatever of Brubaker's Daredevil. My Daredevil collection is almost complete. Just gotta order the other two books of Brubaker's run and then maybe the trade of Nocenti's DD run just for that delicious Romita Jr. art.
