I thought so, I just can't with Frank Miller these days

Still reading Trees. The Beauty is also a good one from Image.

wouldn't doubt it unfortunately, I'm sure they're begging Alan Moore

Went a little overboard at my local shop tonight but the deals were too good.

Picked up:

Copra - Round One
The Sandman - The Doll's House
The Sandman - Dream Country
Concrete: vol 4 - Killer Smile
Thanos - Cosmic Powers
Astro City - Shining Stars
Tom Strong and the Robots of Doom
Tom Strong and the Planet of Peril
Kabuki Library vol 1

The stack of trades/graphic novels continues to pile up.

Copra - Round One

so good. when i get back to the US, i'm planning on getting a lot of graphic novels and trades, including round 2 and 3.

Concrete: vol 4 - Killer Smile

i've thought about getting the first trade of concrete a few times. how is the series?

Kabuki Library vol 1

also saw that recently and it looked interesting, i'd like to know what you think when you get to reading that.

I actually haven't started it yet. I drunk amazoned the first three volumes in one of those pack deals a few weeks ago and when I saw the next volume tonight I just tossed it with my other stuff. I've casually looked through the books and read a little. I've liked what I've seen.

Probably won't be touching Kabuki for some time. Got way too many other books to go through first. When I do I'll comment.

I would have never remembered Copra but I happened to go through this thread before I left for ideas. Found it for half price.

ahhh, i see. it looks right up my alley but i've just never included it when buying a bunch of stuff.

What do you guys think, is the best comics series out
of the whole Marvel Secret Wars event ?

Siege was the best miniseries of the entire event, easily. Great art, solid story, character growth and change, interesting ideas, tied together a lot of other series, relevant to the rest of the event.

Inhumans: Attilan Rising, Korvac Saga, Weirdworld for having good art and good stories, but Inhumans and Korvac Saga had disappointing endings, which was a problem with a lot of promising titles in the event. The problem with Weirdworld was that it was just a standalone story under the Secret Wars umbrellas (like the Where Monsters Dwell book, which I liked, but wasn't really a Secret Wars event book except on paper).

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the artwork in the Infinity Gauntlet series. It was a fantastic mix of American super-hero and Euro/Japanese draftsmanship

Where Monsters Dwell was really, really good. Easily the most enjoyable of the entire thing, imo. It's Garth Ennis.

Where Monsters Dwell and Weirdworld for me. I like that they both had completely different feels than everything else.

Really, for how bad all of the reboots have been so far, Secret Wars was pretty good.

Just picked up 2 Sinestro trades. Series is really good so far. Ironically, it is, in my opinion, the best Lantern book out right now.

Thats cuz every GL just plain sucks, the Oans suck and at times are just dumb. Sinestro makes moves, he plans and he acts. What does Hal do? he still tries to fix every problem with a big green fist.
