Filthy Rich* is easily the best thing I've read from Azzarello. Kind of makes me want to go back and finish 100 Bullets

*Fishy, you read this before?

Just finished thanos vs the hulk and to say it was very disappointing.
There was no thanos vs hulk at all.

The only thing it really was was a build up to another comic called trinity i believe to show you how annihilus got as strong as the hulk

Sell me why.

Judging by the art I think I'd be more interested in POLAR or maybe MICE TEMPLAR. I'm not sure about Azzarello, but I do wonder if his WONDER WOMAN was any good.

Read the first trade of God Hates Astronauts and well.. I feel dumber for it. What a crappy comic book.

I bought the first two trades because of praise I'd heard and wow, what shit. Gonna see if the local shop wants them back via trade or something.

Been out of the loop with the comics but have finally been catching up with Thor (Odinson). Excuse my French but

he died ... again????????

I was pretty disappointed with it as well.

It does the pulp noir thing well. The art can be a little overdone, but it mostly adds a nice texture, and vibe to the story. It's a bit cliched to start - disgraced sports star hired to watch boss' daughter - and the twists might seem obvious, but it's done in an enjoyable way.

In a way, it's the best parts of 100 Bullets, without the excess conspiracies and side plots.

Have you ever read Criminal (Brubaker & Phillips) or Who Is Jake Ellis??

I step away for a second to find my beloved Ultimate U is gasping her last? At least Miles lives.

You have some nerve

I'm the one that bigs up that series the most in these threads. When are they going to start it up again?

Jake Ellis is on my list.

I'm going to start Darwyn Cooke's adaptation of The Hunter next.

^^ Darwyn Cooke you say? I'll be looking for that now.

Just read the 1st Copperhead trade and it's great as some of you mentioned. Will buy more.

I will def be picking that up.

I honestly don't know tl what the f'n deal is w Where Is Jake Ellis? It's been so long the thrill is gone.

Rama I'm finally all caught up with Uncanny Xmen and All New Xmen men. I'm all the way up to Black Vortex now. Still missing Starlord 9 though so I'm holding off on reading it.

All I know is I'm gonna miss Bendis a ton on Xmen. First off Uncanny is awesome and Eva Bell has turned into a completely badass aesome character. The Annuals featuring her were awesome and showed a really unique back story for the character.

And All New Xmen has just finished a super fun adventure time hoping and traveling to the Ultimate Universe to meet their Spidey and their versions of the xmen to battle a ultimate Doom.

Like I said Bendis is gonna be missed big time on that title. First time in a real long time Xmen felt fresh and new. Regardless what Marvel says I know he's leaving the title early. He was quoted as saying he wants his X run to rival his Avengers run when both those series first started.

I just reread Y the last man over this past week. man I forgot how much I loved that book.

The Hunter was incredible. Right up my alley. I loved the long narration passages that normally only work in novels, but fit so well here. Not sure who to credit with the dialogue, but it doesn't matter And the art was perfect. It's what Santos and Azzarello try to do so much, but don't quite nail.

I'm definitely getting the rest of the books.

Fishy, get on this

I don't really follow comic books, and I read something today that truelly broke my heart. I know heros/villains come and go, but when I read today they killed off a cherished character from my childhood I was crushed.

Man, I grew up watching this show and movies, and playing the games over the years. Reading about this almost felt like I lost a childhood friend.

Haven't actually read it but my understanding is he's still alive in the next issue, but in intensive care or something.

Just ordered

Cooke has this coming

REVENGEANCE.jpg

REVENGEANCE is a psychological thriller with darkly humorous overtones. When Joe Malarky is faced with a criminal tragedy, he sets out to make things right on his own. What follows is Joe's odyssey through the underside of the city and the madness that seems to drive his crazy world. REVENGEANCE takes place in Toronto in the mid-eighties and is part crime story, part psychotronic melodrama, and a wholly fond look back at the author's hometown.
