Lemiere and Sorrentino's Green Arrow is better! but yes Fraction's Hawkeye is good

Going to pick up the Justice League #37. Continues the Amazo Virus arc.

anyone else reading Teen Titans? What about Robin Rises?

Born Again is the perfect 3rd or 4th Daredevil live-action movie.

I was coming up with ideas for how they could use this on Netflix in a later season. Maybe if Daredevil takes him down at the end of the Defenders we could not see Kingpin till the end of a 2nd season (since he is in prison) where he questions Wesley if the plan is already in motion. Season 3 would start with the charges against Kingpin dropped (via crime boss chicanery) and he goes free while Daredevil's life begins to fall apart.

Including The Ultimates and Old Man Logan, I'm now 3-0 in my recommendations to you.

Unfortunately, the quality drops off after Whedon leaves the book. I don't recommend continuing the series after that.

Chris Claremont's early Uncanny X-Men run. But it's really hard to top off Whedon's Astonishing X-Men since it was written like a season one of a TV series. All of it (issues 1 to 24) builds up to the cinematic grand finale. There are other Marvel titles that shine for a few stories but it's not as consistent as Whedon's ASX.

For a more recent series, try Peter David's X-FACTOR vol. 3 run. It's not as awesome as AXM but it's still a great series. Plus its consistent.

I always "liked" X-Men even though I had never read any of their comics until now. After the Morrison and Whedon runs they are easily vying my for current comic based obsession.

I am thinking about going all the way back to the Uncanny X-Men #1 and attempt to read them all. But it says the original UXM run was 544 issues. Which seems quite the daunting task.

Why was Daisy Johnson the only other person with SHIELD Lv.10 security clearance? What's so special about her? I just read Secret War 6 issues and Secret Warriors #1. If she's so special, why did Captain America brush her off when she thought she was invited to join Avengers?

White Nick Fury seems way more badass than Samuel L Jackson.

From what I remember Fury recruited her personally and had her trained to be the best of the best. When all was said and done in secret wars Fury probably felt like because of her loyalty that she was worth having at the top of SHIELD as his eyes and ears. As far as the captain America thing; Cap probably felt like she was too green to join the avengers and because she's basically fury's sneaky underling.

I read somewhere Daisy Johnson was or was to be SHIELD director, but maybe Maria Hill had something to do with it not happening. What I read in the comics recently, she's 18 yrs old, didn't finish high school. Kinda young and inexperienced for SHIELD director.

Yea but she's a girl and that somehow gives her the magical ability to be just as good at her job than Nick Fury.

Welp I just got my first screw job from amazon. I ordered Mark Waid's Daredevil volume 2 HC which collects about 12 issues and the assholes I ordered it from sent me volume 6 HC which collects just 4 issues. So not only did they send me the wrong item, but they also stole my money since the volume I ordered costs a lot more than what they sent.

I've never had this happened before using amazon. Am I going to get a refund or what if I do all the proper shit they tell me to do on there?

I think you have a good chance of getting this resolved OC.
Don't open anything unnecessarily and keep everything (reciepts, etc) together.
Call Amazon in the am. They might refer you to the individual vendor.

Yeah, it really sounds a daunting task reading the whole UXM series but I really recommend you just stick with the awesome Chris Claremont run (#94 to #227-ish). Stan Lee's X-Men run is also great and the stories was just ahead of his time if you compare it to other 1960s comics at that time.

I just assumed you already read the older books. But if you still haven't, I strongly recommend:

Daredevil: Born Again
Elektra: Assassin
The Dark Knight Returns
Batman: Year One
Kingdom Come

All of them are fairly self-contained stories.

Sucks to hear that, Chief.

Hold me... and then ban people I don't like to make me feel better.

Well I sent them a message through amazon, like it said to do if you get a wrong item or whatever. The vendor I ordered from isn't a bad one apparently. They've sold thousands of shit and have a 4.9 rating. It just pisses me off that the book they did send me cost so much less than what I ordered. It's stupid though how they could mistake what I ordered with what they sent. They don't even have the same damn volume number.

Could have been just a holiday snafu.
Some poor kid in Pyongyang is wondering where his DD books are.

Daredevil is definitely on my list of 'to read'.

I'd love to read some of the Batman stuff but I don't have a ton of extra money so I am trying to utilize the unlimited App and avoid buying any comics for a long time. Too bad there's not a DC unlimited app.

I'm gonna see how long I can stick with the UXM run from the beginning, I'm only a few issues in. I might break it up with issues of some newer stuff in between.

The problem is I look at some of the newer events and I wanna jump right but I say damn I want to read all the back story and lead-up, understand what/why stuff is happening. You spend that long with characters and you really enjoy the stuff more imo. For example I was reading the Whedon run and I'm like
I have no idea how Colossus died or why it's such a big deal.
I could google it but where is the fun in reading a 2 sentence summary. It's like looking up the ending of a book or movie. The fun is in the journey. /rant

I got Sex Criminals Vol.1 coming in the mail, pretty excited to start that one. I keep perusing Image stuff between Saga, East of West, etc. they just seem to be the best comic company around at the moment (plus, SERIOUSLY cheap TPB's).
