Holy shit I just finished the whedon Astonishing X-Men run

Amazing

Is AX-Men worth continuing after the writer change?

Is there any other marvel stuff half as good as this was?!

Including The Ultimates and Old Man Logan, I'm now 3-0 in my recommendations to you.

Unfortunately, the quality drops off after Whedon leaves the book. I don't recommend continuing the series after that.

Chris Claremont's early Uncanny X-Men run. But it's really hard to top off Whedon's Astonishing X-Men since it was written like a season one of a TV series. All of it (issues 1 to 24) builds up to the cinematic grand finale. There are other Marvel titles that shine for a few stories but it's not as consistent as Whedon's ASX.

For a more recent series, try Peter David's X-FACTOR vol. 3 run. It's not as awesome as AXM but it's still a great series. Plus its consistent.

Do you like Spider-Man?

Just caught up on Saga, finished all Sandman comics, waiting for the new arc to be done before I pick it up, and WOW East of West, what a great series so far!

Also reading underwater diver, and going to get into Planetary.

Yes though so far I've only read:

Amazing Spider-Man 1, 121-122(Gwen Stacy death)
Superior Spider-Man 1-6 (as a lead up to age of ultron)

Ultimate Spider-Man Vol. 1 is the best run.
Its 160 issues long, tho, so you might want to chip away at it while you read some smaller arcs. I could also recommend everything after Brand New Day, but with 2-3 Spider-Man titles coming out every other week its a much more difficult undertaking. Ultimate Spidey is linear and amazing. One of the best runs in comic book history.

East of West is so good. I wish I could hold off until the trades but I can't.

Not very funny story: The other day I thought I was buying the new issue of Saga, but accidentally bought the entire run of Saga for like $50 or so bucks...even though I already owned every issue already. Pissed.

whats the newest biggest best marvel title these days? im looking for something recent and relevant to read.

Aww, lol, you can probably re ebay it.

Those last 2 panels of #15 in EOW...wow!

The "biggest" is probably the Avengers. Its a time warping/universe colliding story they've been building up that will ultimately change the face of Marvel. It has its moments, but its really convoluted and tough to follow at times.

Personally, its all about Uncanny X-Men and All-New X-Men for me.
Art, story, characters, action.

As posted above, the God of Thunder series that heavyarms21 recommended is outstanding. The female Thor story has been really good, too (only 3 issues doe).

Ska? Nope, always been me.

E-comics, bah, you used comixology at all?

I know you, I just don't remember "thoughtstone", I think somebody might have a similar av/belt combo that is throwing me off.

Speaking of Avs, I am about to get into Hellboy, and arc that I should start with or just dive in?

Its a linear story so jumping in isn't a good idea.
Start from the beginning and keep on trucking.

Let me know when you start. I'd love to hear if you dig it and answer any spoiler-free questions you might have.

Agreed, this has been great so far.
I also just finished Aaron's God of Thunder run w/ the 4th trade. Outstanding stuff.

Indeed it was. I'll be waiting for Lady Thor's trade to come out, probably this summer. In the midst of reading another DL recommendation Daredevil: Born Again, I have Hawkeye on deck.

Oh man, you are in such a treat.

Just ignore the constant recap narration since this was still in the mid 80s.

Born Again is the perfect 3rd or 4th Daredevil live-action movie.

Haven't read Hawkeye, but everybody raves about it.
Born Again is amazing.
