Basically after War of the Green Lanterns you get the new DC52 reboot, which is Green #1.

Have u read much of the new DC?

batman only

always been a fan of DC through the cartoons but just recently got into comics.

i want to continue collecting the batman ones and do green lantern as well.

I have to look into justice league (i've already seen the War animated movie..i'm assuming that covers some of the first issues?) because i have always liked justice league so might grab that as well.

Also want to read aquaman because of all the reviews.

Rama I don't think that is true...

When Morrison wrote JLA, Batman defeated some of the aliens that MM hails from with fire... I don't think they all had a phobia towards fire.

It must have changed. Lame if true.

prod, you wanna weigh in on this one?

what is the argument here? that the fire weakness is psychological and not a physical weakness? It get's a little fuzzy with the old continuity but I think it was both

fun fact, he's addicted to chocos aka cookies

I'm fairly certain in JLA Batman put a ring of fire around the aliens that MM hails from.

They need to tighten up his story. Next to Bats, he's the best DC character of all time (imho).

Rama whats up dude?? I have always thought MM was highly underrated and would make a better Marvel character. I think he would fit in better there.

I don't know if you are reading AXIS or not. I was behind a few weeks and I just picked up issues 2,3,4 but haven't had time to read them yet.

also picked this up as well, Image Comics C.O.W.L vol. 1

Anung Un Rama's Recommendations Part I

Hellboy

4-1.jpg

In 1944, U.S. soldiers discovered an infant demon with a giant stone hand. They named him Hellboy, later founding the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense. Hellboy is the world's greatest paranormal investigator. He was born to summon the apocalypse, but has instead devoted his life to fighting evil forces.

Big news re: Hellboy. In January, we will see a new series; Hellboy & BPRD: 1952. I have high hopes for this.

B.P.R.D.

15814.jpg

The Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (the B.P.R.D. or BPRD) is a fictional organization in the comic book work of Mike Mignola, charged with protecting America and the world from the occult, paranormal and supernatural. It maintains the services of several supernatural persons, including Hellboy. The B.P.R.D. originally appeared in the Hellboy comics but has also been featured in many stories under the B.P.R.D. title.

POWERS

ShieldPowers.jpg

Combining the genres of superhero fantasy, crime noir and the police procedural, the series follows the lives of two homicide detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, who are referred to colloquially as "powers".

SAGA

Screen-shot-2013-12-20-at-4.27.35-PM.png

Saga is an epic space opera/fantasy comic book series written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Fiona Staples, published monthly by Image Comics. The series is heavily influenced by Star Wars, and is based on ideas Vaughan conceived both as a child and as a parent. It depicts two lovers from long-warring extraterrestrial races, Alana and Marko, fleeing authorities from both sides of a galactic war as they struggle to care for their newborn daughter, Hazel, who occasionally narrates the series.
The comic was described in solicitations as "Star Wars meets A Game of Thrones," and by critics as being evocative of both science fiction and fantasy epics such as The Lord of the Rings and classic works like Romeo & Juliet.[1][2][3] It is Vaughan's first creator-owned work to be published through Image Comics, and represents the first time he employs narration in his comics writing.

East of West

STK529718.jpg

"This is the world. It is not the one we wanted, but it is the one we deserved. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse roam the Earth, signaling the End Times for humanity, and our best hope for life, lies in Death."

Sci-Fi Western starring the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. 'Nuff said.

Umbral

UMBRAL9_cover_web.jpg

Umbral is a dark fantasy book following Rascal, a teenage girl in the Thieve's Guild whose world is turned upside down when she conspires with the prince to steal a ceremonial trinket during a solar eclipse. She learns that shadowy creatures from another realm have invaded her own world and are searching for the item she stole, the Oculus, and have already killed and replaced most of the people she knows

Think Skyrim + Game of Thrones + Body Snatchers

Nada mucho Kong. Nursing a wicked cold - first time I've been sick in almost 4 years. You?

I agree 100% that MM would work better in the 616.

I'm caught up on Axis. I think its pretty terrible, but hopefully its going to take a turn. I'm interested to see what Apocalypse brings to the table.

I will check out COWL.

I have not read either of those, but, yes, Image is indeed killing it right now. I'm also reading MPH, Low, Starlight (just concluded), and was a huge fan of Chew doe about 30 issues. Great art and amazing original stories.

As for Seceet Wars, it's onviously Marvel's way of wrapping up Hickman's collapsing universes storyline that will also serve to kill off the Ultimate Universe (- Spider-Man), the F.F., Mutants, and possibly Peter Parker.

It could be good, depending the artists ( cool that Alex Ross will be doing the covers) and how clear the storyline is. Hickman has been putting together some of the most vague, convoluted stories of all time with the Avengers the last couple of years. This could just be a hot mess with cool fights and art - like Ultimatum*shudders*
