I just caught up with that side of the story and thus far, the New Avengers side is the most convoluted of the Time Runs out arc, IMO.

Its confusing because theyre showing u what happens months in advance... I guess thyell cover the details of it in the current ongoing..

But it is freaking cool to see how COMPLETELY different the Marvel Universe is months to come...

but yes slightly confusing as well.

Umm.
Fables has really devolved.
It's been all over the place for the last 30 issues.

Not sure what's happening.
The Bigby arc was building Toward something dramatic.

Then they start another arc and totally forget about that.

No cohesion, nothing conclusive.
It's just issue after issue of something thrown together.

It's all over the place now.

Caught upto issue 142.i guess bill willingham is running out of ideas or at least good ones.
I never thought this universe would run out of great ideas.
Writers block or maybe just the author getting bored with the concept.

It's ending at 150 that's probably a good thing.

I haven't gotten past the new north wind arc. Not sure how far along that is.

The war on the adversary is my favorite arc in comics still and IMO the last castle is top 5 issues of all time.

The adversary was the best.
The best ideas always come first which is why the later stuff isn't that Good.

Only way to change that is by changing the authors.

Fables is done but there's many off shoots like jack of fables and fairest.

Been reading jack for a few months as well. It started well. The later Las Vegas stuff was boring imo.
It's gotten better again. Might want to check that.

Have fairest issue 001, yet to read that.
Checked the first few pages, it's not to girly which was my fear.
Will give it a go once I've caught up to fables issue 146.

where is this from?

So I'm on issue 245 of Claremont's UXM run and issue 41 of Louise Simonson's X-Factor run aaaaand I think I'm gonna stop. This is when Rob Liefeld shows up and the stories have gotten pretty awful. Inferno was especially terrible. Poor Madelyne Pryor didn't deserve to be treated like that and neither did Cyclops for that matter.

Think I'm gonna go ahead and start in on Peter David's first run on X-Factor and then go from there to the more modern X-Men shit that happens after Whedon's Astonishing X-Men. Unless any of the early X-Force is worth reading (laugh)? Or X-Cutioner's Song?

First, really glad you took the time to read Claremont's excellent run on Uncanny X-Men.

It's funny you mentioned that you are going to stop at issue 245. If you look at the first page, my UXM recommendation stops pretty much there also (issue 247 specifically). But since you are already at #245, I suggest finishing off the two-part story #246 and #247. It's a kick-ass story involving Master Mold. Everything turns to shit after #247 with the stupid Siege Perilous reboot.

I would have liked my UXM recommendation to stop after "Fall of the Mutants" (the last awesome Claremont X-Men story) but there were a few good issues afterwards that I had to include in the reading list (Colossus in Limbo, The Brood on Earth, the introduction of Genosha).

Poor Madelyne Pryor didn't deserve to be treated like that and neither did Cyclops for that matter.
I grew up reading Madelyne Pryor, from her mysterious introduction to her romance with Scott and so was very fond of the character. I hated the fact that they resurrected Jean Grey back in 1985. Not only did it lessen the impact of the Dark Phoenix storyline, it was also a slap in the face with the way they discarded Madelyne after that. I really wished many times back then that they should have just given Madelyne Jean's powers and then have her join X-Factor instead with Jean still dead.

First run of Peter David's X-Factor is really good but not as great as his run on 2005. Larry Stroman's art takes some getting used to but I liked it immediately.

First volume of X-Force isn't really worth reading. First few issues with Rob Liefeld sucks naturally. But the book was pretty decent when artists Greg Capullo and later on Adam Polina took over.

Chris Claremont & John Byrne's Uncanny X-Men Hellfire Club/Phoenix/Dark Phoenix was fantastic. I had the trade paperback. The Brood arc around #166 or so was good. The Wolverine wedding and subsequent few issues from #172 to #175 were good. Paul M. Smith was pretty good.

I just saw iTunes has many single issues or short arc collections of various Marvel & DC comics! They have a handful of free downloads.

What are some super well done must read story arcs? I read the free short sample of Spiderman Civil War, then read the Marvel Universe website summary of Civil War. I read the free short sample of Batman Hush by Jim Lee.

It's one of the recent issues of the Batman/Superman new 52 team up book I believe it's like issue 16. I've never read it personally.

That Grayson Enter the Dragon poster though...Oh my god is that amazing! DC always has really awesome variant covers. I even got some of the selfie covers too.

So I just read the Age of Ultron storyline...I found it a little underwhelming.

It started off strong and kind of fizzled out. I can only assume the movie is going to be almost nothing like the comic. Especially since they can't show Wolverine or Sue Storm plus I doubt they are going to bother with time travel so it's probably all changed.

I can't ever really complain about a story arc that details Sue Storm as one of the main badasses of the Marvel universe.

Such a huge underrated character and the most powerful of the F4

How would you guys display your comics on a book shelf

Wouldn't they fade from light?

You can buy 2 sheets of Lexan from the hardware store, drill 4 holes near the corners, sandwich them with 4 nuts as spacers, make like a tile of comic covers.

Sue is awesome. Caught up with Avengers, loving it. Thought Hulk vs Danvers was ridiculously lopsided.
