International Colombia’s president: Legalize cocaine, it’s no worse than whiskey

I don’t really know enough about cocaine to be honest. I mean I know the jokes but not any of the real long term health consequences

This is def a major drug I would be in support of legalizing. If you don't know already, you'd be surprised at how many high functioning casual users there are.

Considering what a problem it is, crime wise, and how much more destructive alcohol is, it's something I'd allow if only to free up law enforcement while hurting criminal enterprises.

Freeing up resources to combat heroin, meth and fentanyl circulation would be beneficial.

If Trump really cared about the fentanyl crisis and stopping the cartels..

Legalizing cocaine would be the easiest way to stop all of it instantly.

I have waffled back and forth on this one. At one point I was a strong advocate for legalization and treatment. I am more middle of the road, but I think the cartels really need to go so still in favor. But I am sick of society's constant shift of embracing low class behavior. Is like legalization I suppose, but mixed with improvement of standard of life for middle and working class people. Drug use I think people across the board engage in, but crippling addiction hits people with a lot of stress in their life a lot more. It's the cause of addiction versus recreational use, even if a precisely quantifiable cause and effect measurement isn't possible.

Many high functioning financially successful people are coke heads so this move will result into Colombia having it's wolves of Bogota or whatever. A bunch of douchey finance bro types off their rocker.
Not my thing at all but I'm for the legalization of the most, if not all drugs.
Coke is on the bottom of the list of drugs for me personally.

Fuck yes. This is it boys! It's happening!!!!

It's awesome.

Seriously though, I hate the "just legalize drugs, man" crowd. Just look around, our society has no discipline or moral code. Crack destroyed a couple of generations of urban black folks. Our society is mentally and morally weak. People say "oh, people could get treatment" as if its not available now.

I know crack is extremely addictive and I don’t believe that anything that addictive should be legal. It’s one of those drugs that could ruin a disciplined persons life and even someone with a lot of will power may not be able to overcome. I’m guessing cocaine is pretty addictive too, but I really don’t know too much about cocaine that didn’t learn from tv. I think that whether a drug should be legal or not should chiefly depend on its addictiveness.

Coke is one I would consider legalising. Most people under the age of 40 have done it at some point anyway, it's not really more addictive than booze and a lot of the issues with it come from it being cut with bad shit which obviously gets eliminated if you produce it properly.

Hard disagree. Far more addictive than booze and much more deadly.

I know a young beautiful girl with large boobs, who died of an overdose and not because it was cut with something.

I personally love a lil cocaine with my whiskey. Cheers, padre!

I was really surprised when I learned how many people are casual users of coke. It’s one of those things at parties where if one person brings it up, like half the people are like yeah it’s awesome. I’d be for legalization if it was on the table.
Most illicit drugs are political in their legislation. East dominates opium trade and South America dominates coca.

None of it is anywhere near as dangerous as fentanyl and many other medically legal drugs in the us. Coke and heroin are heavily socially stigmatized and tabooed but they are the original medicines of mankind. Coke if they gotta amputate or go in, and heroin for the dying

Agree on coke, but I’ve been a fan of rock music for far too long to not see what heroin does to people.

I would rather be in a car with someone coked up driving than drunk tho

Well hopefully this increases the quality. It's a mixed bag finding good coke.

I like to dabble occasionally. I've learned however that I can't just buy and hold onto a bag. I'll be doing it for breakfast after a week. I've just learned to hang with the right people when I'm feeling up for it, and keep it out of the house.

Molly on the other hand I can buy a years worth supply and only use it for going to concerts. That shit should be legalized before coke. It's way less addicting and harmful.

Medically legal. Heroin is absolutely a no-fun deathbed drug. I don’t support either of their recreational usage, but I think rather than finding ways to make the worst of them 100x more addictive and deadly, maybe making them safer would be smarter.
