I woulda preferred to keep my Zags in the WCC just cause of the decades of tradition and the bitter rivalry with St Marys, which is down the street from my house, and all the other Bay Area schools
But now that its set, I think they can be the anchor to lure a few more solid B-Ball teams into the fold and rebuild that part of the Pac, if the administrators decide to put serious effort in that direction
Plus, they also got San Diego State who was just in the NCAA Finals a couple years back so thats a solid foundation for the future

I think the Gonzaga people are going to want the P12 to get St Marys.

Apparently there was already preliminary talks between St Marys and the Pac before Gonzaga accepted the invitation so its entirely possible the hated Gaels(yuck) join up also

I am curious to see what kind of share The Zags get for joining, will it be a full football school sized share or a percentage of that

Yeah this realignment tends to happen in rivalry pairs. And Gonzagas natural partner would be St Marys if they have one.

You'd think it can't be the same because they don't have football team.

Ironically Washington State were the ones that killed Gonzagas football program by beating them 59-0. It'd be funny if they brought it back to get to 8 teams. That'd be really interesting subplot.

It may not be a full football share but I bet its a nice juicy slice of the pie just because the Pac needed Gonzaga a bit more than the Zags needed the Pac right now
Pac has to secure a new tv deal next year and a rebuilding football conference with a West Coast Best Coast basketball powerhouse included in it is a bit more tantalizing than just a rebuilding football conference, Zags had some negotiating leverage there
