Colby's antics are the main reason for his terrible performance

I think the pressure of everything really got to Colby and he couldn’t contain things in his head before going out there. For the fight, he made a decision that he would do whatever it took to make sure he didn’t get knocked out in front of Trump last night. I think that’s it. He was absolutely terrified of getting knocked out in front of Trump and he realized he lit a fire he didn’t have a big enough hose for st that press conference. He really fucked himself and his actions truly came back to bite him.

Sure, Colby had a long layoff, but a guy who is on his third title shot, with two of them being handed on a silver platter and no more in sight for the near future (especially the way he's been ducking the top guys in the division), with freaking Donald Trump there to support him, and he doesn't even seem slightly disappointed after that ridiculous performance? That's because he was happy he made it out in one piece.

When Leon tagged him, he had to laugh it off. In between rounds, he was more concerned about his looks on the camera than his corner's advice. It eventually became clear: he saw what happened to Marty, and he knew Leon wanted to kill him after that press conference. À la Dillon Danis, he was just too affraid to engage, on the risk of getting KO'd and instantly becoming a meme that would blow up ten fold in proportion to his trash talking. His attempts at wrestling were weak and got even more discouraged after Leon got his own takedown. It was only at the end, when Leon started being sloppy, making it was obvious he wasn't in kill-rage mode, that Colby decided to engage.

IMHO, this was a very winnable fight for Colby, he just gave up before it started.

Conor got KTFO on a hiatus. Compare that to the Aldo or Eddie chsmp champ fight? At 35, 2 years off, time gets us all.

Trump leaving was embarrassing. Had he won and Trump put thr title on him, that would be epic. President Trump is GOAT.

He's just physically weak and unathletic. He's getting old so relying on cardio is not there anymore.

He looked scared and was flinching everytime Leon fainted. If Leon pressed he would have KOed Colby

Still wondering what CC's gameplan was, usually he comes forward with non stop pressure and wrestling as his outside striking game isnt going to win him fights. Seemed to be happy to coast to a UD loss until the 5th.
Clearly his game plan was to show up, spout off nonsense, survive/not get ko'd then blame whoever he needed to for his loss.

If Leon wanted to kill him he sure had the opportunity to at least do a lot of damage. Instead he put on an incredibly mediocre sparring match that people for some reason are pretending was a dominant win. He obviously won, but it was a terrible fight.

Or and hear me out

Dude is an undersized WW aged 35 who just came off a year long layoff because his opponent sucker punched in the back of the head and caused a serious brain injury

But maybe you're right...maybe it's "the antics"

Colby came off over a year of inactivity, won the ground control, and Leon's only stat he had was an additional, barely 2.5 strikes per round. 13 significant strikes. This isn't the demolishing that the orange induced rage people think it is. Far from it. If Colby had a bad performance, then so did Leon. barely 2.5 additional strikes per round, isn't some master class. I swear, everyone here has dranken the xyience, multiple times.

Based on what? Who has Belal bullied that has the skills Leon possesses? He sure didn't do anything in their first fight.

Belal has improved a lot since then. I'm not shitting on Leon, I like Leon, but he looked off last night. I think if Belal had to step in the last minute he would've left with the belt.

It amazes me how people come out of last night, where Leon Edwards completely shut Colby down. Making him look worse than anybody else has in his entire career, and didn't even get out of 1st gear in doing do, and come to the conclusion that Leon looked bad or is a weak champion.

It was a staring contest and a light sparring session until the 5th round, you mushroom.

Belal would have destroyed either one of these guys last night.

You're getting cooked with the replies but I fully agree with you. Say what you want about Belal but he goes forward and doesn't stop.

I'm not getting cooked, these fucking morons just don't know how to read. I'm talking about LAST NIGHT...both Leon and Colby looked off. Belal would have capitalized on that.

what they mean by bully is walk onto punches with his overaggression to close the distance, get hurt, dropped and then finished.

I disagree. Leon looked great and held himself together rather than getting emotional and Trying too hard to kill Colby. He outclassed Colby beating him in every area of the game. Leon made a specific decision to take Colby down and grapple with him when it would have been "Safer" to keep it standing.although he was never in any danger.

Belal won't get Leon emotional whatsoever and skill for skill he isn't there with him.
