News Colby ready to step in vs Usman

Now is the time for Colby and Masvidal to meg best prices with UFC , but the fight is too close, not enough time to promote. I doubt it happens, Edwards maybe?

Ditto Masvidal, plus it takes the pressure off. If he gets beaten he won’t also lose his hype, given the circumstances.

Masvidal ain't getting sh!t but Dana's bitter spite to teach him a lesson about not taking opportunities for granted.

If you think Covington is bad now if he wins the title he'll never shut up.

Which is exactly what the UFC wants to happen, and if they give him the shot there is no denying that. Colby is popular. I bet after all the rioting and looting he is going to be even more popular with his schtick

I doubt they even offer a replacement given that there are already 2 other title fights on the card. They'll just reshuffle the Volk-Max rematch up to the main event and be done with it. And, logistically to get someone over to Abu Dhabi, go through all the testing, etc... this late in the game would be near impossible anyway.

Given all of Colby's crying about the bad stoppage and just how exciting the 1st fight was between Usman and Covington and the fact that Colby is never far from weight I can see Dana trying to make this work..?

And the added bonus of sticking it to journeyman Masvidal for not taking advantage of the great opportunity he was given.

Colby is such an ass but he honestly makes me laugh a lot too

And he showed massive toughness in their first fight, I’d be down for this rematch

How could colby...or anyone be a last minute replacement with all this testing shit? And its overseas....

Ufc should always prepare for this shit, especially when there is a NEW chance for fights to be cancelled, but i doubt they thought of it.

One of the best fighters in history at 170.... please god yes. Take my money

I'd expect him to lose again, but fair play if he actually took the fight

Why would Colby take the fight this late as a replacement if he was serious about beating Usman? Pretty fucking short notice, no?

I'll believe it if he actually does it, until then he gets no credit

like when he pretended he was going to accept woodley for clout.

Just Like he was gonna step in vs Woodley on short notice huh

Agree. The funny thing is I suspect Dana was positive towards Masvidal when he offered him the shot. He probably thought he was doing him a solid. But now, after turning down the opportunity to become champ, Dana is going to be spiteful towards Mas. That may seem unprofessional to some, but for Dana it's the way he operates.
