Colby looked like shit.. was off for nearly 2 years.. and came in to a fight not looking at all like his old self.. give credit to Leon, but I don't think we saw what we were expecting, and it wasn't all due to Leon being better.

He blamed the layoff in his post fight too.

It seems like some people know how to handle a layoff and others do not. Colby seems to be in the latter group - looked like a different much worse fighter than we're used to.

he shouldnt have cried about getting a title shot.... warm up fight then title shot.... BUT NOOOOO now he looks like a bum 0/3 and taken down twice by leon.

Definitely should have taken a warm up.. looked like absolute garbage and a shell of his former self. That was easy EASY work for Leon. Leon felt so unthreatened he purposely was choosing to grapple with him LOL

Yes true, but who could Colby have beaten? I doubt ufc would give Colby someone outside the top 10 even with the preferential treatment. Maybe they could have given him magny or holland possibly. Do you think the Colby who fought tonight would beat luque or Neal? I’m not too sure

um yea....now he will never get another shot

I have always thought colby was on something. Seemingly endless cardio for a fighter who puts on a pace like he does is always suspect. Especially in the WW division.

He comes back off a 2 year "layoff" and looked awful all over the place.

He’d be 36 by the time that potential title shot came around. It was fight now or take a risk with a warm up and maybe not even have a 3rd title shot. I’m sure Colby thought about it and didn’t think it was worth the gamble

I don't think Cardio was an issue tonight though.. it looked more like timidness to start and just having his timing and feel off.. he just looked rusty af and couldn't get going at the speed as which we are used to seeing, therefore the fight wasn't even competitive.

Colby should be the gate keeper for top 10 lightweights who test the waters at welterweight

One theory I have that nobody else seems to (maybe because it's idiotic?) is that Colby felt bad about his comment about Leon's father, and that affected his mentality in a big way. The good Colby underneath the character felt like shit for what he said. He was in no mood to hurt Leon anymore. This was all unconscious.....Colby was probably not aware of this.

Isn't there also a theory that Colby had the flu?

His voice sounded kinda weird in some of the embedded videos. Is that possible?

Yes, the hoarse voice. I'd forgotten about that. He had it for the Okamoto interview as well. I wondered what was up with that.

It's Colby's fault for never fighting. He started out like shit in the 2nd Usman fight too. This fight was tailor made for him. The guy is an idiot.
for sure. remember this is a guy that passed over two title shots against woodley to till and usman because he didn't want to jepordize his brand

He need it be a worth wild fight, talking all that shit then losing is gonna hurt your brand. That's a risk only worth talking is a title shot.

Pretty sure he wins a fight and is back in the title mix. UFC’s doing everything for this gimmick to win the title. Thank God Leon outclassed him.

Was it though? My biggest question still remains, is Colby really that good of a MMA wrestler?

I don't find he's that great. He beat some old ass, end of the road fighters but has beat like no one in their prime.
