I'd like to see this fight too after Khamzat "Wrong Turn" Chimaev at least beats someone from 5 to 8 in the rankings. His best win is against some bum ranked 11 or 12 in the division. Let's pump the breaks a little on a top 5 guy until he beats someone legit. It's crazy how much Sherdoggers are gargling his nuts like Listerine. He dominated a few cans. Whoop de do da. You guys act like he the second coming of christ. Lol
Colby may be the second best in the division but he's in no hurry to prove it. Aside from fighting for the belt he likes easy fights hence him calling out teammates he knows from experience he'll dominate.
Bingo!
It's all conjecture until he proves it.
Dana praises him too much

Look at Colby's expression at the end of the fight, even he didnt think that he had won.If anything he deserves a third title shot based on his performance in the second Usman fight cause most of us thought he won.
But anyway he should fight Dustin next and wait for someone else to dethrone Usman, and then he can fight one of those for number 1 contender.

Someone he needs to beat? Give him someone from 4 to 8. He needs to beat an established name before a fight with Cody....let alone Usman is even on the negotiating table. I don't understand how hard that is to understand? He hasn't beaten anyone of note yet. Still gotta prove yourself my man.If 5-8 is legit and 11-> are bums does that mean fighters 9 and 10 make everyone between?
The top "contenders" at WW have some of the weakest resumes I have ever seen. Anyone who gets some combination of wins over Maia/RDA/Woodley becomes a top 5 guy apparently.
Covington has been incredibly inactive and has usually beaten guys who were coming off losing streaks. He may very well be the #2 guy in the division and he might not but until he starts fighting top guys consistently, he will continue to be in Alexander Gustaffson territory where he is ranked highly based on good performances in losses rather than actual quality wins.
Islam has one top 10 win and people think he deserves a title shot. Colby proved himself against UsmanHe only beat the corpse of Twood and decisiond a 40yo LW striker with 0 wrestling. thats enough for ufc to declare him the goat
The entire UFC WW top 10 has faced poor competition (in comparison to ranked fighters below 155) as far as I'm concerned. Woodley had clearly given up and has even lost to Logan Paul twice ffs yet guys who beat him during his skid still skyrocketed up the rankings. There is a big bias against Colby and the competition he has faced. Since for about the last 4-5 years, Colby and Usman have faced roughly the same opponents. The main difference in opponents is Colby beating Lawler while Usman beat Burns.
As I posted in another thread:
Colby’s last 7 fights:
- Masvidal
- Usman
- Woodley
- Usman
- Lawler
- RDA
- Maia
Kamaru’s last 7 fights:
- Covington
- Masvidal
- Burns
- Masvidal
- Covington
- Woodley
- RDA
- (Maia before that)
Now, one of these guys is considered p4p #1, while the other is considered roughly “fighting bad opponents”.
