He's had two shots at the belt, failed both times.

He's lost to Usman twice, in those title shots. No reason for him, barring some kind of Tony Ferguson unbeaten run, to ever get another shot at either one.

He doesn't seem all that interested in fighting his way back to the top of the heap, to be honest. So, if he has nothing of substance to offer the fight world, and only has his "I'm a heel" show to offer, I'm fine with not hearing about him.

Lol. Never again unless he wins ten in a row? If you’re the next best guy and you prove it by beating the other next best guys, you get to fight for the belt, especially if it’s a new champion or if many people think you won your last title shot.

If Covington beats Chimaev he has a great case for the next shot, especially if Leon wins the rematch. If he beats Burns then it probably depends on what Shavkat, Belal and Brady do.

Burns, Neal, Wonderboy, or Shavkat are all realistic possibilities. Moving down to 155 is another small possibility. With Khamzat likely moving up to 185 he is off the table. Usman fights Leon again. If he continues to sit out another few months then you need to reassess his potential matchups yet again.

Most likely Covington's next battles are at the poker tables or in a court room.

Usman takes a break for a while and leon is ready to fight there's no reason the ufc wont make colby vs edwards. colby is coming off a win and if colby does win they get to do usman vs colby 3 which is a win win for the ufc. If leon beats colby, his popularity going into the usman rematch is also at an all time high.

Colby may not ever come back to the UFC after what has happened

Yeah cause it's such a huge deal when you're in your late 20's on a 8 fight win streak and just broke into the top 5 of WW division. And in actuality he was out a year and nine months not two years.

Not to mention he went on in next 3 fights to win the Belt.
