He's had two shots at the belt, failed both times.
He's lost to Usman twice, in those title shots. No reason for him, barring some kind of Tony Ferguson unbeaten run, to ever get another shot at either one.
He doesn't seem all that interested in fighting his way back to the top of the heap, to be honest. So, if he has nothing of substance to offer the fight world, and only has his "I'm a heel" show to offer, I'm fine with not hearing about him.
Lol. Never again unless he wins ten in a row? If you’re the next best guy and you prove it by beating the other next best guys, you get to fight for the belt, especially if it’s a new champion or if many people think you won your last title shot.
If Covington beats Chimaev he has a great case for the next shot, especially if Leon wins the rematch. If he beats Burns then it probably depends on what Shavkat, Belal and Brady do.
