He’s realistically got another run in him. I don’t know if sitting out will prove fruitful, but he did avoid any potential collisions to send him further down the rankings while Usman was champion. Leon has changed the terrain, and if he defends, Colby can begin a campaign of shit talk to engineer his own path to the title once more. Sure, he is older, but so are his contemporaries-burns is adding up mileage, Usman can be side-stepped, and Belal could be manageable for him. We don’t know what he’s been up to training wise, because so much of his character is smoke and mirrors. I’d love to see him get derailed in a fireball beating, but only time will tell.

Well he's already lost the belt lol. I expect him to get it back, but he's got stiff competition making its way up. So, probably a year or two aswell.

There are plenty of outliers like Silva, Texiera, etc, but there isn't a single fighter who would surprise me to suddenly drop off in their mid to late 30's.

imo that’s the perfect amount of fame (minus the infamy he has). people who like you will come up and give props, just to remind you that you did something cool with your life. but not so famous that you have to deal with paparazzi or stalkers, or random opportunistic lawsuits. once you’re super famous, you have to spend your whole life hiding because people mob you everywhere. there’s no going back. superstardom sounds like such a curse, idk why anyone would want that.

He may be older but he hasn't slowed down yet and has taken relatively little damage thanks in part to his inactivity. I think he has another good 1-2 years left.

But I don't see him getting the title anytime soon. The up and comers in the division, Shavkat and Khamzat, are nightmare matchups for him. Belal are maybe Leon are the only ones he has a shot against. However his inactivity could cost him even against them.
