Media Colby Covington just turned 35

Even so, you don't have to be good to be leaving your prime.
Ye obviously. I meant I don't think he even beats Belal now while still in his prime (if he's still in his prime, maybe out of his prime already). Downhill from here, things aren't lookin good for him at all. Shavkat coming up, JDM coming up... he will be a prey soon

Well that's not an IQ milestone to brag about, but whatevs.

hope he gets through this court case and comes back healthy. i was never a fan of his schtick but i really love his style of fighting; its like if the Diaz brothers had a more wrestling based approach. im usually not a fan of people who go to decision often but Colby has so much activity in every fight he is in. fun to watch!

These guys waste the shit out of their primes. He’s fought three times since 2019 and I don’t think has anything set yet for this year. What’s the point of being a professional fighter if you never fight? It’s my biggest gripe about the current generation vs the last one.

Cro Cop fought 17 times 2003-2005. Covington fought 3 times 2019-2023.

It’s one of the primary reasons they struggle so much to build stars now.

Tryon Woodley started his 4 fight skid at 36.
Dillashaw's Body literally started falling apart at 36
Dom Cruz lost his first non title fight at 36

Looks like he has one last good year

He is already 3 years past the average pound-for-pound age. Also, Usman is the oldest dude on this list, how much longer does he have?

Masvidal is 38
Burns is 36
Usman is 35
Belal is 34

Time creeping up on us all.
Especially with Khamzat likely to leave the division, outside of a few names in the top 10 to15 WW is pretty old right now.

The 4 were on top of one of the weakest eras ever for the WW division if not the weakest. Good riddance for them being left behind. We're finally seeing WW about to be great again with the incoming talent and prospects. No more fat journeymen LWs - even the likes of Chiesa, washed Nate, washed Pettis, Yancy got ranked in that shite era or D level cardio kickboxing title fights between 2 wrestlers.

Is that worst than a division where Dan Hardy got a title shot?

Nah ..? how about the division when Matt Serra got a title shot .... and WON!!

Lmao

Covington fought 3 times 2019-2023.

Where are you getting these numbers from? I just looked it up and he fought 5 times 2019-2022.

He's not doing himself any favors sitting on his ass while the clock ticks down

He kinda fell off. Went from almost beating Usman twice, to that awkward fight with Masvidal aka the battle of Usman's step-sons, which felt like two exes having to be in the same room together after they broke up, to getting punched at the club, now it feels like he's been MIA for a while and only bad matchups are waiting for him on his return. He's too small to go up in weight so his only move might be 155, but at 35 I don't see it.
