I go to the local market where the coffeeshop only sell and grind robusta and arabica. Really basic. You just play with the ratios. I prefer 50/50. Wife leans towards 70 robusta, 30 arabica.

There is a bigger jump from shit to decent than there is from decent to premium.

What you do with the beans is more important imo.

Mid priced beans freshly ground, to the right grind size at the right weight/dose, will give you a better result than an expensive pre-ground coffee, made slap dash.

No offense to you--this my own personal taste and YMMV, as it should--but I always thought Folgers tasted like it was stirred with a used pencil before being served.

We usually get this

or one of the other of this brand's varieties. I like dark roasts as a general rule and this stuff is quite good.

I wouldn't go so far as to call myself an aficionado, but I like good coffee a lot and not so good coffee not nearly so much.
