No preference but drink regularly. Switched to iced coffee many years ago because of heart burn. These days I mainly drink from the Keurig.

generally i dont have much loyalty towards coffee brands. ill often try a product from a brand i like, then order a different product of a similar roasts and its complete ass.

ive had lavazza, cameron, and starbucks brand coffees that ive enjoyed and not enjoyed.

so far, kauai coffee might be the only one that ive enjoyed every time, but ive only tried two of their products

I usually just buy Folger's or store brand. Any aficionados out there? Is buying premium stuff really much better?

Folgers doesn't deserve the hate it gets, it's a stable, consistent product capably maintained along its chain from the source to consumer. It's like Bacardi rum in that regard. People who disparage it as "trash" are privileged to have never lived in a time or a place where they were forced to know what real trash is.

But it's definitely not for an enthusiast. Doesn't even bloom. Sort of DOA on arrival in that regard. If one truly loves coffee you owe it yourself to buy the beans whole, grind them (with a blender or preferably a dedicated burr grinder), then use one of the following if you're after a simple cup of joe:

1. SCA-approved Drip-Style Automatic Coffee Maker
2. French Press
3. Chemex Coffee Maker

You could also try an Aeropress, but as I understand it, that yields something between an espresso and a traditional, saturated drip-style end result.

I either buy beans, grind them myself and make coffee with a french press. Or, use my Nespresso if I'm in a time crunch.

My favorite local roaster is Dark Horse. Second would be the Coffee Bean.

Least favorite would be Starbucks. You could drink asphalt and get the same effect.

Not a coffee snob, but I do like a good cup of coffee. My wife bought an espresso maker about 2 years ago, so we buy whole beans and grind them ourselves. Usually we buy Kicking Horse , Saltspring or Level Ground Ethiopian. Not super expensive, but not cheap no name brand shite either. Black or with a tablespoon of yellow demura sugar.

Not because we're snooty at work, the opposite. A group of us buy random bags of coffee from the TJ Maxx type places because their cheap. I got this for like four bucks and loved it. I immediately went out to the other locations and bought all the bags I could find. (Partially in an attempt to prevent only having the mocha, vanilla, cinnamon, and eucalyptus flavored stuff certain co-workers bring in.)

It's aight. I do like the ease of the K-cup tho. I make a 12oz on strong, it fits perfectly in my tumbler after I add 3 ice cubes so I can chug it instantly.

Plain Maxwell House Colombian medium roast, soaked for at least 24 hours in my Japanese cold brew pitcher.

Slaps harder than McDonalds, Tim Hortons, or Starbucks.

I haven't bought big brand coffee for almost 10 years. I buy from a roaster company who roast every week in relatively small batches.
