Media Cody Garbrandt suffering from long covid effects

Yeah, those broscience fucktards will say the mass media is propaganda for some sort of "deep state" that silently runs the world, but on the other hand, listening to some anonymous troll from an obscure forum on the internet is the secret to the "great awakening"...and all a sudden, average Joe who dropped out of high school, can't properly use "their", "they're" and "there", and who can't tell the difference between a reliable source and some Russian-produced fake news article circulating on his social media is becoming a doctor/public health issues expert.

What a time to be alive!
Could both be true tho. Could the pandemic be serious and the media a propaganda voice for a certain group in power? Could the pandemic be used to gain power and yet be serious enough to be a reason to lockdown?

So, both categories haven't even come close to doubling...thanks for providing some evidence, those aren't increasing nearly as fast as some have claimed.
It will be interesting what the final numbers are at the end of the year. Usually during the Holiday season these numbers go up. I couldn't imagine what another unjustified lockdown would do as well. But one positive note from Covid deaths from the flu have dropped this year. Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report | CDC (1)

Do you ever wonder why you're not in charge of anything related to medicine or public policy?

I guarantee the people round you don't. It's fucking obvious.
Dude I didn't say you couldn't stay hidden under your bed while clenching your Safety mask or Blankey. If you're terrified of a Virus with a 99 percent survival rate that's your prerogative. I won't stop living for such a small chance of dying.

I'll take that as a no.

Those stats were kept YoY for the same time period, so in relation to previous months, it would go up if that tends to be the trend, but there is no indication the growth rate for December, YoY will increase more than it has. I think it's a shame that the numbers go up, but when managing deaths, I think the focus has been in the right place. The one thing I wish was different, was compliance from people, so counties can manage restrictions based on population density and hospital capacity and more things could open up. But since people are feeding nonsense trying to debunk covid, we as a country can't manage this to that granularity. It's our own fault as a population.

Honestly, I fail to understand how any of this could profit any government, besides China, who as a dictatorship and authoritarian regime already has the tools to put a gun onto the head of its population and force them to stay locked down so the country gets rid of this virus ASAP, which apparently it did (I have a hard time believing any of the BS that the CCP releases, but that's another story). This gives them a huge upper hand economically when all other major countries (free ones who can't impose things on its population in the same manner as the CCP did) in a pivotal time where there will probably be a huge shift in power and influence, with the U.S. struggling with the disastrous effects of Trump's poor handling of the pandemic. If anything, all these conspiracy theories and claims that wearing a mask is impeding freedom is showing the limits, in a pandemic situation, of both freedom of speech (as this gives room for all sorts of attention-seeking fucktard trolls to spread this stuff on YouTube and turn vulnerable folks into conspiracy theorists) and our most basic freedoms, which many people aren't ready to put on hold for a few months in an effort to reach a common goal (i.e., getting rid of this pandemic, making sure not to flood the medical system until a vaccine is released, etc). I fucking hate to say this, but in the very specific situation of a global pandemic, China is showing that authoritarian regimes that control the information that circulates within its borders and that control their population are more efficient in handling this specific type of situation. And it disgusts me, because as free countries I wish we'd have proven that our good will and common sense would have proven to be just as efficient, but the opposite is happening. And that's a huge hit to democracy, I find.

And on whether there is any truth to the possibility that governments "gain power" from this, the reality is, it's not good for any government whatsoever to be plagued with a pandemic, and the current situation is DISASTROUS to most industries that are usually known to be in bed with Eastern governments. So, to be honest, I don't believe in the rhetoric that there are "political gains" to be made with this thing for the U.S. government or for any government that is elected or that cannot legitimately put a gun against the head of any citizen to make sure he obeys. And for those authoritarian governments, that's the kind of power that they already had, so there is no possible gain, here...and it makes me mad that they're now bragging that they got rid of COVID-19 with a limited amount of casualties, and reopening their economies, while a new disease is spreading in North America and Europe: stupid-ass conspiracy theories that, on the long run, may just make our beloved democracy implode.

My two cents.

Somehow it’s just a perfect that it was Brendan who’d say that.

It's going to be a brutal winter for most of the United States as the hospital systems get overwhelmed and frontline workers either quit or die. There are already strikes taking place amongst hospital workers as a lot of the country can't even keep up with PPE, and we're just at the start of the winter wave.

Yeah, Covid itself isn't that deadly, but when you can't be ventilated and have to wait in a hallway for days, or get into a car accident and there is no triage available, deaths are going to skyrocket.

Anyone who denies how serious of an issue this is just doesn't have the capacity to think of the ripples and ever lasting affects it will have financially, mentally, medically, and politically for decades to come. We've weakened ourselves domestically and internationally, all because half the nation is too pussy to wear a fucking face mask and not get together to jerk off with their bros for a few months.

If you cry that a lockdown only hurts us financially, then you should have personally been scolding every person that didn't wear a mask or social distance. They and the incompetence of the leaders of this country is the only reason we are in such a dire financial position.

You wouldn't need a "nanny state' if you would just wipe your own ass.

I don't think people are trying to Debunk Covid that would be like trying to Debunk influenza. I would say we complied long enough and many people will never get out of debt or get their businesses back that the Government forced them to lose. Covid didn't shut down the economy the Federal and State Governments did. I don't believe that we should have anymore restrictions. We could seriously curb the number of deaths from actual "Pandemics" like heart disease and Cancer, but we would have to seriously infringe on others individual rights and freedoms. With Freedom there will always be risks. The main stream media always likes to talk about cases but not the actual mortality rate. Business owners shouldn't comply to shut downs and let the consumers decide if its worth the risk to shop there. I won't shut down as my employees need me and I need my customers. Fear sells and half of the American Population is buying. I chose not to stop living for such a small chance of dying. I chose to socialize and breathe the fresh air. I'm actually looking forward to a good get together with families and friends this Thanksgiving and our annual Football game.

Business owners wouldn't have to be shutdown if idiots like you wouldn't go full retard and do a Thanksgiving and a football game.

This is the reason the US is in such a dire situation. We could have had businesses open and less restrictions, but idiots have to go full throttle and over compensate for their lack of 'freedumbs'.

I've been a business owner this whole time, and still been able to take precautions to ensure everyone is safe.

The #1 cause of spread is family gatherings. If your business fails due to COVID restrictions, you have no one else to blame but yourself.

You can't compare an infectious disease with things like heart disease and cancer. If those are your analogies, we aren't engaging in an appropriate conversation. And while covid didn't shut down the economy, it forced governments all over the world to shut it down. Not sure what you are implying by that statement. I get closing the economy has costs and will impact millions, but so would Covid not closing, you aren't a position to tell me which is worse, but there are appropriately informed agencies running those cost benefits. As for the morality rate, many people tired of Covid like to discuss low mortality rates, but don't like to discuss long-term effects and rates related to the impact of those effects. You've taken the opposite extreme over fear mongering, you are being dismissive to the extreme. And breathing fresh air isn't restricted, you're welcome to do that under the current restrictions.

A vast majority of cases were not reported until recently. Theiir best estimate seems to be around 0.5%. Thus he missed it only by a small factor of 15.5X
For the USA - CURRENT total case count, and CURRENT death counts = 2% rate.

Sorry. 257000/12300000 = .020894.

2.09%

I would never scold someone who doesn't wear a "Face Diaper" that's their choice. And I can't prove that they are even effective at all. The majority of my customers are doing more damage then good. They constantly touch their faces and don't wash their hands. They remove the masks to sneeze and cough. It's like their walking around with Petri dishes on their faces. To have any positive effect which would be minimal they would have to be worn like they are in ER. The states with the Mandates and Strict Lockdowns have the same amount of "Cases" that don't enforce such nonsense. No point in "MaskDebating" though because every study saying they may work there's studies saying they may not. Either way you do you and I'll do me and both of us have a 99 percent chance of beating this "Pandemic".
