With so many fighters already booked and many other big names pegged for the NY show, what fight do you see being the Co-main for 202?

Say what you want about Conor but he has been rather protected on the cards he's headlined. Here's a look at the co-main events from his cards.

189- Rory vs Lawler for the Welterweight title
194- Rockhold vs Weidman for the Middleweight title (Also included Souza vs Romero)
196- Holm vs Tate for the Bantamweight title

Who would you guys like to see fill in this slot and will the UFC protect him with another huge title fight as the co-main event? As I am going to the event, I really hope we see a great card stacked around the main event but don't see a ton of options with everything that is already booked.

There's literally no champion to fill in for him.

protected? none of the fighters in any of the co-mains are big stars.... he had a womens title fight as the co-main at 196 and him and Nate still almost broke the record. if they put a marquee fight(Bisping vs GSP for example) as the co-main with Conor-Nate it will break the records easily imo

Not hating on Conor at all, I am actually a fan but all three of those co main events with the exception of maybe Holm vs Tate could have headlined their own card. Would they have generated huge buyrates? Probably not ,but they are certainly main event worthy.

they are great fights, but no-one watched the cards for those fights.... the last card with Nate showed Conor doesnt need a massive fight as a co-main to almost break the record that is held by Brock who had GSP as a co-main..... thats being protected

Why? Because Co-main would literally translate to it being one half of a main event making the main event a co-main event as well? Good for you on figuring that out. But since the UFC and all the media covering these things calls them co-main events I will continue to refer to it as such.

Nick Diaz would make a lot of sense, I'm not sure the Diaz brothers are keen on fighting on the same card. They'll make something work. At the end of the day that one fight sells the card.

You cant have a co main event and then announce the last fight as the main event. If the penultimate fight is announced as the co main event, the finale should also be announced as the co main event. They are co main events.

The co-mains for 189, 194, 196 probably helped the buyrate, but only a small amount. I can obviously only speculate, but I'd be surprised if any of those fights added more than 150k additional buys. Conor is clearly the draw, and the success of all those PPV's was directly tied to him.

UFC 202 will prove that, as it'll do huge numbers, and that's without a title fight co-main. There simply aren't any options for a title fight. They're all tied up elsewhere. The only way a 2nd title fight makes it onto the 202 card, is if there's an injury somewhere.

It's difficult to speculate what the co-main will be, as there's so many options outside of title fights. Anderson Silva, Machida, Rashad, Maia, Condit, Gunni, and Nick Diaz are all good names who may be options.

Pretty sure co-main will feature Anderson, he wanted on UFC 200 but I guess they couldn't get it done, this is the next biggest card and as you say all the other stars are pretty much booked...That or a champion takes a quick turnaround to get on this card.

bring back jake shields for a fight with jason mayhem miller so he can finally get that rematch buddy!@!!

Nate said him and Nick won't fight on the same card in a recent interview.

Just have a feeling Silva/Hall or Romero/Whittaker will be on the card. But yeah, I don't expect any title fights at 202 given the schedule and current bookings.
