“A New York judge today ordered a 30-year-old man to vacate his parents’ home after they took him to court when he refused to leave.”

Dude so determined to avoid responsibility it took a legit eviction order to leave his parents basement lol

“The letter also advises Michael Rotondo not only move out but get a job.

"There are jobs available even for those with a poor work history like you," they write in the letter. "Get one -- you have to work!"

Its me!

This is actually probably more common than you’d think.

I can recall a few times family members have evicted one another just in my personal experience. Really lame when an adult can’t even pay his parents rent. Sad!

A better question is "Which of you Sherdoggers is above this?"

The lesson here is don't have kids.

In this scenario, I'd just buy them a house. Might sting but it's cheaper to having some guy around for 10 years, asking for loans.

Anyway, I think we are bound to see an increase in the age when kids leave their parents' house.

There might be good and bad to that. In one sense, it could enhance the closeness and proximity of families. But due to modern culture, I think it's more bound to make the relations even more distant and even outright hostile.

A strong family which stays together and compromises the luxury of independent living, for the sake of saving living costs and concentrating family income into one single household, is a family that's bound for success. That's actually an "old" model under which many households used to operate in the past, never truly going their "separate ways" as a family, but rather sticking to the end as one tightly-knit unit. But that's clearly not happening in these cases.

New York rent is a killer right (edit: actually their place looks outer suburban at least)? Doesn't surprise me. Along with essentially everyone I know in my area I moved out at 18 (a few younger, but their parents had to sign off on them being unable to live in the same house), but as housing prices/rent has gone up that age has been increasing. Still, nothing like friends from Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore who apparently had no intention of moving out as young adults (little wonder they were sent to university in Australia).

Its me...what wrong its my safe space !!!

Great post

There is no bookie alive that will set odds that this dude living with his parents is getting pussy

I lol'd.

Really, this is more weird than anything.

Also, guy couldn't at least put his fucking hair into a ponytail for his court appearance? Maybe shave?

And here I thought you weren't a pussy. :rolleyes::D

Sounds great. But this lazy fuck in the OP wouldn't even do that (i.e. contribute). I'm extremely fuckin' lazy and I've learned to appreciate the virtue of paying my own way. Kid was a leech.

I choose the least painful route, most times. Kids these days, if you toss them out on the streets, they might come back with a shotgun.

I enjoy peace and quiet. If I have to pay some guy so that I'll never have to interact with him again, I don't really have a problem with that. Paying money is a cheaper price than the years of stress and burden as a result of hanging around some screwed-up individual.

No doubt. But a lot of parents bring their kids up to be leeches. Give them everything that they want, so that they'll shut up, and stop making noise. Having too much wealth to give out, and too little interest in anything beyond your job, is what causes that to happen. Then they act surprised when their children turn out to be emotional babies who continue to cry out for more, and more. The only mechanism of survival they've ever learned, since birth.

Don't know what happened here, but it has happened before. It's just shitty to hear about it on such a constant basis.
