Elections CNN at it again. Trying to take down Bernie

CNN accused of stacking audience vs. Bernie Sanders in town hall event

CNN admitted fault on Wednesday after being accused of failing to disclose Democratic Party ties of several attendees who were able to ask 2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders questions during the network’s town hall on Monday.

“Though we said at the beginning of the Town Hall that the audience was made up of Democrats and Independents, we should have more fully identified any political affiliations,” a CNN spokesperson told Fox News.

The CNN event followed other recent town halls featuring Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif; Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn; and potential independent candidate, former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz. But unlike those town halls, many participants who posed policy questions to Sanders appear to have political ties, which was first reported by Paste Magazine.

Tara Ebersole, who asked about Sanders’ plan for universal health care, was introduced by CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer as a “former biology professor,” but her reported LinkedIn page claims her current job is chair of the Baltimore County Democratic Party.

Yunjung Seo, who was described by CNN as a “George Washington student,” is currently an intern for the Democratic fundraising organization, the Katz Watson Group, and was previously a campaign fellow for Hillary Clinton for America according to her reported LinkedIn page. Her question was about how Sanders plans on alleviating student debt.

However, the arguably toughest question of the night was asked by Shadi Nasab, who was referred to as an “American University student” but is also an intern for the left-wing group Public Policy, according to her reported LinkedIn page.

“As we saw in the 2018 midterms, the Democratic Party has become more female, more racially diverse, and younger in age. How can a voter like me feel confident in your ability to represent the party, especially given that your response to sexual harassment allegations during your campaign is that you were ‘a little bit busy running around the country trying to make the case to be elected as president,’" Nasab asked.

Abena McAllister, who was described by Blitzer as “active in Maryland Democrat Party,” was listed by CNN’s chyron as a “mother of two.” However, she is apparently the chair of the Charles County Democratic Central Committee.

Serious question but why does this matter? Did they ask him gotcha questions? Did they ask him questions that were loaded and to make him look bad? I listened to the Town Hall and I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

Naw man. It helps Bernie as long as what they are doing is pointed out.

The media attacking Trump helped him too. It gives people a underdog complex. Rallies the troops.

I kinda agree, but one thing that helped Trump in that regard was his aggressiveness. He ran his campaign against the media and against the status quo in his own party. It makes things ugly when you do that, and Trump doesn't care, but if focuses people's attention on how non-stop political bias in the media is. Bernie lacks that aggressiveness, so I think it makes him more vulnerable to the media. Bernie's temperate response (or complacency) to revelations of DNC bias against him vs Hillary was respectable but also ensures he is unlikely to be president.

It's not enough that the media is unfair to you. You have to fight back.

I like Bernie, although I don't identify with the majority of his politics. But I find it sad how he's being treated. It's obvious the fix is in AGAIN.

Bernie touted all these policies years ago when they weren't in vogue, when he got labelled a crack pot socialist nut job. Now you have all these young Johnny Come Lately's running on those same policies, and even more extreme ones, and they're being pushed to the moon.

When I saw on the news that Bernie was running, the first thing they said was "he's going to have a hard time, because he's an old white man running against a very diverse, very FEMALE candidate pool". lol. Poor guy.

In this case, though, what's the theory? Do nutters think that CNN is deliberately trying to hurt Bernie? Doesn't that contradict the "CNN is actually liberal" CT?

More of a CNN supports the corporate dem candidate, not necessarily anything and everything left of center. Last election that was clearly Hilary. Was it with Trotsky or Fawlty you had the debate with a few weekd back about the biased coverage during the 2016 primary? This seems to be a continuation of that. Kamala Harris seems to be the DNC preferred candidate at this point and who CNN will support. So many in the field it's messier currently, but clearly not Bernie if they're stacking his town hall with formal dnc shills.

Does CNN want five more years of Trump? Because this is how they are going to get five more years of Trump.

Probably. He is a constant source or material for them and he makes their executives, on air talent and sponsors a lot of money.

He does. This is why his digital media empire is going to be so important.

For some reason the media doesn't tell you how critical Bernie has been of the media.

I will be here plastering those clips everywhere from his YouTube channel that outperforms all cable news. So will his other Grass Roots campaign staff.

CNN is part of a multi-billion dollar organization. There is no need to dissect their stories one by one. Their motive is FUNDAMENTALLY profit. This makes truth secondary. They are inherently untrustworthy snakes.

"Corporate Dem" isn't a real thing, though. That's just something that some nutters use to discredit candidates that they've been trained to hate. If CNN supported Clinton in 2016, they sure had a funny way of showing it. And what are you basing your comments on Harris on? And obviously they didn't stack the town hall with anyone. That's just Fox trying to stir shit up. People who attend town halls tend to be people who are engaged politically, which often means interning in college.

You don't think choosing a party member to ask him to defend being white, old, and male, is a problem?

This is where the establishment DNC wants to take the Democratic party. Where you have to apologize for being white, and male.

What happened to the rainbow coalition man?

Bring that shit back.

The way to lose election after election is to hang a sign on your party saying no white males allowed.

Good, let the Democrats shoot themselves in the foot again. They never learn.

If a Democrat is going to win, wouldn't you rather it be one that actually wants to solve illegal immigration by going after employers?

A Democrat that has no ties to foreign nations?

Sure. They all claim they want to solve it. But the reality is no one wants clintorus as president. Dems need to stop in fighting and sabotaging like last time and let the process flow. May the best man win. That will be best for America.

Not only CNN lol. The whole MSM complex has already started to write negative stories about Bernie. If the establishment doesn't want you to be president, then your chances are minimal. Trump win was close to a miracle.

This is why I don't think Bernie has a chance against candidates like Biden, Harris etc. but he will split the dem vote apart, which is good for Trump. He will be betrayed by his own party once again.

If that happens, Bernie needs to endorse Trump in the general.
The shitstorm would be epic.

Lol you guys didn't actually think your corrupt party was going to give the guy a fair shot this time, did you?

As a Ron Paul guy, all I can say is hold on to your asses. The next two years are going to be frustrsting to say the least.

Serious question but why does this matter? Did they ask him gotcha questions? Did they ask him questions that were loaded and to make him look bad? I listened to the Town Hall and I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

The complaint seems to be mostly that CNN didn't disclose who these people were: lobbyists and interns at lobbying firms. A subsidiary complaint is that CNN didn't do a good job of actually getting regular voters, and not lobbyists and lobbying firm interns into the town hall to ask questions.

Democrats have no chance so it's a moot point.

Good, let the Democrats shoot themselves in the foot again. They never learn.

CNN is a conservative outlet. If you consider a networks ideology based on policy and not whether they like or dislike Trump this is very obvious.
