Guy is humble and just wants to try out MMA. The defensiveness from a portion of MMA fans is rather telling.

Personally I hope he does well, although he plainly doesn't look so great in those photos.

What does it tell? That a lot of people think that young, up and coming deserving talent with, oh I don't know, maybe ONE mma fight and an extensive training background might be more deserving of an opportunity than CM Punk?

It's a joke. Do you think that the NFL, MLB, NHL or NBA would agree to letting him play for a team because he's a "draw" and he doesn't have time to play in the minors?

What the fuck are you talking about? What slot is CM Punk talking away from another guy? It's not a fucking 40 man roster and one guy is getting cut because of him. UFC has hundreds of guys with a fight card schedule they can't fill properly to begin with. UFC signed him because PPVs were hurting badly in 2014.

Please, get off of the MMA high horse. There's never been a standard to fight in the UFC to begin with(Toney). There's no standard for title shots(Sylvia vs Couture for starters). That's some shit MMA fans made up in their heads to think this is like a MLB or NFL.

When Punk first said he was going to compete in the middleweight division, I was quite puzzled.
