That being said, he did step into the cage... twice. Once against a very talented fighter in Mickey Gall

The other time he went the distance against another fighter. He did lose though.

But... that's about 20 minutes in the UFC cage. That's perhaps more than everyone else on Sherdog.


So, Punk will indeed be known forever as a former UFC Fighter, a former Professional Fighter... Kudos to him for making the walk,

It's not easy to sign up for a real fight. Punk admitted to being scared and still making the walk. Good on him.

They gave up on D1CM too soon. imho bro was just starting to get comfortable.

The UFC not matching Punk up with an old shot boxer with zero grappling, James Toney style, was a very dumb move.

Would have made it a proper freakshow attraction and given Phil at least a hail mary chance (he probably still would have been murdered - hell it didn't work even with a former HW champion once).

He also would have got less casual shame. The general public wouldn't hold it against a WWE guy for getting his ass kicked by an established tough guy like Ricardo Mayorga or somebody like that, in the same way that losing to random no name MMAers did.

They should have done Northcutt vs Punk. Missed opportunity.

All those fights were low level but they always padded a card decently lol. They were funny and entertaining in their own way.

I love pro wrestling, not the current WWE crap even with Hunter in charge of booking, but to say Punk's losses were BAD LUCK is stupid. The guy went to Pro wrestling once he left high school and didn't even achieved a fit body like many of his peers and then decided to do mma after almost what, 10+ years without even having experience in combat sports?

Punk's delusion is waaaaaay too big for his own good
