News Clay Guida removed from UFC roster

His energy will be missed and he produced some of the most exciting fights in the UFC, but why do I have a bad feeling he will try going to a smaller org to continue getting his head smashed until he can barely put together a sentence.

BTW I just learned that Alvey took a retirement fight, and won in the last minute of the 3rd, against a 6-11 (now 8-17!) jabroni . . . just too good to be true.
Bruh Smiling Sam is the Karate Combat HW champ on a 4 fight win streak put some respect on his name.

I feel like Clays prime was well over 10 years ago. None the less I wish him the best. Definitely a fun fighter who mainly had great fights.

Stayed way too long, his last good fight was over ten years ago.

If Clay Guida had agreed his last fight was gonna be his retirement fight then UFC would've given him a proper sendoff video etc.

Same as Arlovski. Bow out gracefully and you'll get a nice ending. If you claw and hold on until the final moment and not accept it is the end then you're gonna get what you're gonna get. There's no reason to have much sympathy.

Guida & Arlovski both had their chance to get a good exit like Robbie Lawler & even Michelle Robertson and they didn't want it.

Yea this is true, Guida also made an ass of himself by faking a retirement so he could get some mic time previously, Dana wasn’t thrilled with him for it

Godspeed, Carpenter. Stay away from bareknuckle and enjoy your retirement.
Has he retired?? or did he just leave UFC? I guess we may get clued in if they give him a package on saturday.

I just saw this thread. Haven’t had time to look into it but I wish him well. Ya I hope they pay their respects if he is retiring.

Very touching how they gave him such a lovely send off.

The way the UFC shows reverence for the sports past is why even new fans feel so proud, like they are part of something much greater than themselves.
Something which will last long after any of us here are gone.
Something beautiful and venerable.

They probably offer him the chance to retire in the cage if he wants, but it would be awkward to release him and play him a video package if he doesn't want to retire.

Clay Guida? If you told me 10 years ago that he retired, I wouldn't think twice about it. The dude must be ancient
