If Clay Guida had agreed his last fight was gonna be his retirement fight then UFC would've given him a proper sendoff video etc.

Same as Arlovski. Bow out gracefully and you'll get a nice ending. If you claw and hold on until the final moment and not accept it is the end then you're gonna get what you're gonna get. There's no reason to have much sympathy.

Guida & Arlovski both had their chance to get a good exit like Robbie Lawler & even Michelle Robertson and they didn't want it.

also remember Clay Guida did a ridiculous fake retirement that pissed Dana off, dude might've not even gotten a send off with proper notice this time lol

I'll never Forget this fight. Snuck a girl over that night to watch it while my dad was sleeping. She hadn't watched MMA before so this was her introduction to the sport. Needless to say, she was impressed and became a fight fan right then and there.

It's amazing how long Guida lasted, I feel like I've seen him fight forever. Towards the end you kind of knew he was gone, but I get a little nostalgic seeing old fighters sometimes. Hopefully he retires and enjoys life.

Yea this is true, Guida also made an ass of himself by faking a retirement so he could get some mic time previously, Dana wasn’t thrilled with him for it

I think he actually did this more than one time. The classic one was against Garcia, but IIRC he took his gloves off after the Silva fight too.. they didnt give him mic time though

Was never a huge fan of his, but I respected his hustle, and ability to keep doing it as old as he was getting.

Usually don't see that in the lower weight classes, idk where he gets his energy from but it seems endless still. Just hope he doesn't go too long and make a mockery of his career like some end up doing.
