Those who have only watched MMA for the last ten years or so may be completely oblivious to the fact that interviews like this, and also interviewers like this person seen in the video, were commonplace in the world of MMA. It was a free for all when it came to interviewing fighters. Interviewers ranged from the wannabe jock in a Tapout shirt to the cringey wholesome nerdy Mormon seen below.

Honestly, it was the greatest era.

It is so refreshing to see someone like Mayhem Miller without media training or the desire to market himself as a commercially consumable product.

My favorite part is where he goes Oh, you don't know you've had enough Mayhem Miller until you've had too much. That statement could not be more true. Shit, it's even true with respect to my first sentence above. It's refreshing until it isn't any more. Great interview, thanks for posting.

I don't think it's refreshing, it's just uncomfortable. Mayhem lacks self-awareness, is grandiose, and gives in to his impulses because he has been rewarded for that too many times.

He can be witty, funny, and introspective and he is obviously entertaining. But to me that doesn't wash away the stink. And this is pre-drugs. I enjoyed Frank Trigg kicking the ever loving shit out of him.

To each his or her own. I want uncomfortable situations to be uncomfortable. Like I said, it is refreshing until it isn't. Where that line is probably depends on the person. To your second point, I do not particularly enjoy anyone getting beaten up for any reason other than sport; but I hear you, it is morally satisfying to see failure coincide with reprehensible behaviour.

After knowing what he became, don't feel like re-watching old stuff even if he was entertaining.

I've been late for work 3 times in my 19 years. Two were car troubles and the third was when i lost track of time at a Subway following his police stand-off that he was live posting during lol.

He seems mostly normal but you can tell that he is insane at the same time.

That was some stab in the dark guessing that kid was Morman and nailing it.

Wow, WTF, Harry Potter was around when Jason 'Mayhem' Miller was fighting?

Timelines collide, man, 'Mayhem' seems so long ago on the MMA timeline, Harry Potter doesn't seem that old.
