Exactly I’m not sold on Jones’s retirement. He just took 3 years off. I think he’s just saying that to negotiate a higher purse for the fight after Stipe. He’s had only 2 minutes of cage time since that 3 year brake at 35 id think he has two fights left.

No Pav nuthugger here, just the reality of his Sambo and Greco Roman background assures he can wrestle, no doubt. His offense has demolished most of his competition with nothing else needed. Since 2019 he has KO'd every one he faced, including Blades, Lewis, and Tai, in the first round.

Jon is/ was one of the greatest mma grapplers ever, but there was nothing leading up to the Gane fight that said Jon was going to use the wrestling. In his last few fights he barely used it or did not have much success with it. People who "knew" Jon would do that to Gane are full of BS. I am not taking away from what Jones did to Gane, but he was looking mediocre at best in his last fights. There is no way of really "knowing" in the fight game or we would be millionaires betting on fights.
On paper Gane vs Pav is an interesting fight. I understand how Gane winning would mess up the division, but still doesn't mean it's a bad fight. Since Pav is the next coming of Jesus he should dispatch Gane easily and there would be no denying him a title shot next.
