There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a partisan. That’s how the game of politics is played.

I’ve openly expressed this many times.




I would say I’m a reasonable partisan, because sometimes the republicans are so fucking stupid I can’t even defend them (for instance, healthcare, Steve King, etc). I also don’t give a shit about abortion (even though I personally abhor the practice), support gay marriage, don’t think Obama is still coming for my guns, etc.


I am an astute political observer with a reasonable partisan lean.

I also enjoy shitposting, walks in the park, and liberal tears.

You could say all spying involves surveillance but not all surveillance involves spying.

Even Trump is well aware of the perception difference. Thus why he uses spying.

Spying GENERALLY is what is done on foreign entities or in an extra judicial way.

Surveillance is generally done within spying but when done on nationals involves oversight and is within very strict confines.

Trump and Barr use the word spying very deliberately. Trump isn't even trying to hide that he thinks what happened to him and his campaign was 'illegal' and thus 'spying'. That is why he does not say 'illegal spying' general and just 'spying' as spying suffices based on common parlance and he knows what it intonates.

Barr knows it. Trump knows it. It is specifically why Trump is not intermingling the words as he does not want to add an air of legitimacy to what he calls 'spying' by suggesting it was 'surveillance'. Something people associate law enforcement doing with those suspected of committing a crime. Spying can include that connotation but more often is seen as just something done to benefit one party. Corporations 'spy' on each other to gain advantage not to find crimes. One is good and the other, not.

All spying can include surveillance but not all surveillance includes spying.
