JJ Machado and his brothers are actually (illegitimate?) cousins with Rickson and Rorion. Chuck Norris initially started out training in Rorion's school which was part of network of "Gracie" branded schools. I think because of Chuck's movie career spending six months on the set and six months off, he started training with the Machado brothers. Chuck became fast friends with the Machados and gifted them a school in a building he owned. They set up the school under the name "Carlos Gracie", but their cousins, particularly Rorion, who was now a lawyer told them to call their academy "Machados" instead.

Haha, I have a similar story about David Foster. Me and my dad fixed the AC on his yacht and were supposed to come back the next day to recharge the system and double check everything but he took off in the middle of the night with thousands of dollars worth of tools and never paid his bill. That's honestly the story almost exactly. My grandfather owned a well-established autoshop and the Norris brothers skipped out on a bill after my father provided them with cash after they went bankrupt.

I've met and talked with "Superfoot" bill Wallace, who knew them both pretty well. He seemed to be of the opinion that chuck would have murdered lee. Not only was he significantly larger, but he was a legitimate world kickboxing champ while Lee had no combat sports record of any kind.
