A few sad things, hearing Chuck speak coherently and Alistair claiming his cardio is better. So Overeem opens with a knee to the body Chucks throws a punch and Overeem counters with a right that rocks Chuck who goes for a take down. Alistair gets up they knee each other and split. Chuck counters a knee with a left that grazes Overeem. Chuck shoots Alistair hits a knee on the way down. So far Alistair is out striking him and not keeping his distance at all. Alistair tries getting up Chuck holds his neck and right leg to control him and proceeds to knee his head. Chuck has the better wrestling. This is really tiring Alistair. Chuck gets on the sprawl position and knees Alistair. Alistair get up still outstriking Chuck gets a good right hand. A devastating knee to the body. Across hook combo by Alistair hurst Chuck and Alistair backs him into a corner throws another right that hits.

Chuck clinches him and Alistair looks gassed. Alistair hits a jab and a cross with little pep to it. Another Knee to Chuck which had some explosiveness to it, probably the last ditch effort from Alistair. Tries another knee and looks visible gassed. Is now carelessly swinging punches. Throws a one two that makes Chuck retreat. Looks tired throws a right high kick that looks really slow when going back into the starting stance, Chuck hits him a right. Hits another right, Alistair is starting to panic and looks gassed. Dana and the commentators comment on how tired Alistair is. Chuck hits an overhand right that rocks Alistair. He finishes him with a fury. So Chuck beat him after Alistair gassed.

That's my interpretation of it. If we can't agree that's OK. To me it looks like Alistair was winning then gassed when Chuck started wrestling with him.

P.S. I forgot the whole Chuck dick interview in the back and that guy that kept calling Dana and Chuck sexy.

Glover, Rumble and present Rampage would give him a fight but it'd go either way. He beats Bader, Davis, present Hendo and present Shogun.

Chuck is a horrible match up for DC? I don't think so, DC can take Chuck down and control him. Chuck was a junior College wrestler, DC is a freaking Olympian. Shogun took Chuck down... Then again for some weird reason Shogun takes everyone down. Rampage also controlled Chuck on the ground.

When Liddell fought Vitor he was a beast. He was on a 4 fight win streak at the time (All were in Pride). He was also 5-1 in the UFC at that time. I actually believe he was even more fearsome then, as there weren't a lot of guys in the UFC then with a skillset to give him problems

Overeem was on a 12 fight win streak when he fought Liddell. 3 of those wins had come in Pride. He also won his next 3 fights after fighting Liddell. "Modern" Overeem has lost2 out of his last 3 fights.

Yes that is a fair analysis. Mezger was also beating Chuck pretty handily in Pride until getting brutally KO'ed

OK I can see that. Chuck wrestling him is how I think he gassed. So I would say Chuck would've won a rematch the same way but I stand with the claim that Overeem was the better striker.

Just look at how DC handled Hendo.

He landed 0/3 on Monson, 4/7 on Barnett, 3/4 on Nelson and 0/1 on Mir. His overall takedown percentage is 48% (Although he has 100% takedown offence).


Although Im sure his takedown stats will be much more impressive at LHW, 48% doesnt seem that much better than other Greco Roman wrestlers

Lol he beat Chuck by outstriking him and surprising him. He was on the offence with punches, which threw Liddell off. Randy is certainly not as good of a wrestler as DC< but I believe better at gameplanning. He also threatened with submissions, which we havent seen from DC yet

Glover would take Chuck down and have his way with them. And have little threat from his standing. Rampage destroyed Chuck twice. Chuck had NOTHING for Rampage in his prime. And Glover has a slick ground game. Chuck would be subbed. He would be helpless.

I know how much you love being a contrarian, and normally I like reading your opinion. But on the topic of Liddell you've consistently been completely bonkers.
