Well Australia and China are really pissed at each other.

TL : DR
- Australia is calling for an international investigation of China's handling. China is pissed off at Australia for this.

- China threatens Australia with economic retaliation. China's Ambassodor to Australia says Chinese tourists and students will stop coming to Australia if Australia goes through with calls for an investigation. China will also stop buying Aussie products.

- China's Ambassador has exposed the true face of the CCP. The mask has been lifted. CCP has been working for years to Take Over Australia's politcal system.

Australia called 'gum stuck to China's shoe' by state media in coronavirus investigation stoush

Australia has been described as “gum stuck to the bottom of China’s shoe,” by a Chinese state media editor as Beijing criticised calls for an inquiry into the coronavirus origin as “political manoeuvring,” further straining ties.

“Australia is always there, making trouble. It is a bit like chewing gum stuck on the sole of China’s shoes. Sometimes you have to find a stone to rub it off,” Hu said.

Hu’s comments echo that of China’s ambassador to Australia, Jingye Cheng, who told Australian media at the weekend that pushing for an inquiry could result in a boycott of the country’s goods. “Maybe the ordinary people will say ‘Why should we drink Australian wine? Eat Australian beef?’,” Cheng told the Australian Financial Review

China's man in Canberra has unmasked the regime's true face

Ambassador Cheng Jingye has done Australia a great service. He has taken off the mask.

China's ambassador has shown us the true face of the Chinese government's feeling for Australia.

The Chinese Communist Party for years has been working systematically to undermine Australia's sovereignty. To "take over" our political system, in the words of Australia's former national security adviser and ASIO chief, Duncan Lewis.

But the Chinese regime always kept the smiling mask of friendship in place. President Xi Jinping told Australia's Parliament in 2014 that the two countries should "be harmonious neighbours who stick together in both good times and bad times".

China's handling of the Chinese virus has done more harm to the entire world than any boycott ever could. This should bind the US and Australia even closer together as it should be.

Australia is showing some serious balls when you consider how much they benefit economically from China. Australia has been our best ally since WWII and we should have their back. We need to offer to buy a lot more of their exports.

And in fact the US needs to rally as many countries in that region with closer economic ties to oppose China.

They really went nuts after this. It's a crazy person who tried to play it straight, and can't maintain the facade anymore.

Good, fuck China and boycott their polluting slave laboring ways

ASEAN today is basically a chinese proxy. It doesnt have China in it, but does its will. Any idea of the past of Australia ever joining it are ill thought. Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar all chinese infiltrated and owned.

They will need the US then more than ever. Cant stand alone. Id like to see a push to make the Pacific Union a thing. And push Indonesia join the pacific union. ASEAN has too many chinese allies in it like Philippines, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore etc and I dont think it stands a chance at being a counter to China.

I believe our current defense agreement with Australia is non-binding, meaning each country has the option to come to the defense of the other but is not obligated to do so. I'd like to see a formal guarantee of Australia's security from any outside threat. It's almost guaranteed we'd do that now but we need to send an unmistakable signal to the CCP. It's insane that we're obligated to defend Turkey or Macedonia as part of NATO but not Australia.

"But guys, factory farmed animals! The US does it too"
- some idiot on the internet

China is really showing its arrogance . Not just this virus situation but Chinese nationalists in Australia intimidating and harassing Hong Kong pro democrasy activists and protesters.

China has learned that Australia is too tolerant and accomadating, so they take advantage. This is the problem with some nations, you be nice to them they abuse you. The West needs to get a backbone and need to quit giving a shit when countries like Saudi, China, Indonesia pull the race card.

What does the Senate and elite politicians think? If they are onboard and obviously the exec then the masses opinions can shift too with time. If Duterte is genuinely liked and the political elite are on board the masses cant do anything.
We're not their yet. But reading comments online you could see people who voted for Duterte expressing their disappointment.

Hopefully this is just the beginning of a bigger movement and more countries call out China and put them in their place and more groups attempt to sue the zhit out of them for their mishandling and botching of the virus. If they had been honest in the beginning lives could have been saved and economic crisis averted. Now people are dead because of their arrogance. They need to face a backlash for this third world bullzhit.

First off, China can ride a dick.
Second, I do wonder what is the best strategy to deal with them.
Clearly, something needs to be done, but go too hard and you risk making them go full retard.
Considering how much shit they own and produce, that can be disastrous.

We have been gladly taking their dirty money and cheap labor for decades, full well knowing who they were the whole time. The conversation and way to move forward needs to keep that in mind.

Remember TPP, that trade agreement that wasnt a benefit to the USA that trump scrapped?

This is what it was about. Making a trade bloc against china.
