International Chinese Spy Balloon spotted flying over the Billings, Montana

If there was balloons no way the intelligence was telling trump. Even if trump didn’t shoot it down he would of use it as a talking point to bash China

But since this one was spotted by the public, no way it could be avoided. So Biden deserves to get the slack he’s getting and the but Trump is a deflection.
or another explanation is that these things fly over america all the time and they're so harmless that the president isn't even informed. but in this case some pilot spotted it and made a fuss so under public pressure biden had to shoot it down, and the chinese were all like wtf bro

i dunno. it's a very bizarre and dumb story

Spy balloons float over American airspace:

Biden (Commander in Chief)- "shoot it down"
'Senior Defense Official' - "No, we're going to wait."

Trump -
'Senior Defense Official' - "Let's not tell him about it."

Is this why people claim there is a "Deep State"?

Who is the fucking dumbass who used a $400,000 missile when a single bullet would have worked much better.
Are you sure a bullet would have worked? There was a similar balloon issue back in 1998.

"Canadian CF-18 fighter jet pilots caught up with the [weather] balloon off the coast of Newfoundland and took aim, firing more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition at it. But the balloon survived the assault, soldiering on over the North Atlantic."

because China and USA are among the largest nuclear super powers having a tiff. Gonna attract some attention in a time when the largest nuclear super power is also having a bit of a tiff. Or did you mean weighing in on American politics in general? I guess the same logic would apply anyway.

What's worrying about this is China has been remaining relatively somewhat neutral until now.
Not saying it's wrong but may make even more of a show of division in this place. Much love for my boys Isa and Fox and some others that respond to US politics.
And yes China seems to be getting more aggressive which is scary. They are a powerhouse.

So people understand the data that is collected amounts to checking for any radioactive activity coming from the sites. I saw a video where 60 mins was happily brought to one of the sites an paraded around back in 2017 I believe? It's hardly a big secret where these sites are located and unless there is some secretive technology involved it is unlikely significate data was collected they could not get from Youtube or a satellite. I have a feeling there is more secretive sites and no one is allowed to get anywhere near these sites. These bunkers are deep into the ground surrounded by thick concrete walls an 8 ton security door.

I enjoy in the video the sound of people cheering when the balloon gets hit. As if to celebrate our superior anti-balloon technology in America?

I don't think the issue is the spying as much as having something physically flying over the country in the air (not space).

I don't mean getting more aggressive in general. In fact, on that note I'd say they haven't been too aggresive, just that their major moves lately have been a result of their growth.

China has pretty much sat on the fence with Russia/Ukraine, and when the balloon appeared they appealed for calm and sent out, at least, some form of narrative. In fact their official reaction was that this is a non sequitur and will pass as if nothing happened. They insisted it was a scientific research balloon. Since it was shot down China have switched their tone and are taking on a stance which is more formally anti-US ergo pro-Russian.

I'm not really sure if it was worth it for something we weren't 100% sure about. An act like that is pretty abnormal today, particularly against a major power.

so which is it? i see even bolton, who hates Trump's guts, says there were no balloons.
others say there were

you can't have two contradictory sets of answers for this.
which is it?
I think the balloons probably happened under Trump, but i dont think it was a big deal then either

Well you look at all the ip theft... you look at Taiwan stuff. Look now at this balloon which no expert that I've seen said it was a weather balloon. Nor that some experts said it was steered likely by the path it drifted (unconfirmed tho). So far you are right. They have taken no steps toward Russia aid that we know.

But really why would Bolton go (to Fox's point) lie where it concerns trump. It's why they may need to just declassify the information. These anonymous sources these days... not so sure about it.

Bolton will say anything to get air time. He is a weird cat. IMO the only reason this one was shot down was because the public was aware of it. It is kind of petty on the part of the US tbh. It had already traveled all the way across the US. A seven mile debris field is a lot bigger than i thought it would be.

Bolton would get more airtime if he went for the idea imo. And look, I'm sure debris may be recovered to find out but reality is the potential to float things over another country like that with experts saying it's not a weather balloon... not to mention that there seems to be no communication when it first "blew off course" as far as we know until after discovery. If it was indeed out of control what was going to be done to get it back at 66k feet? How many more countries would it fly over. Gonna let it drift east all the way back to China?

The thing was so damn big that there was no way every radar wasnt picking it up. I heard the device had been estimated at like three city buses in length.

My questions remain though... what was going to happen? If it's not a weather balloon what is it? How would anyone retrieve it if it's out of control. Just all around strange. And again.. China is know to be massive at IP theft... human rights stuff. At trade shows we were always told don't interact with Chinese companies. They would just walk by taking literature for ideas. We also never did business there because they would buy one of our product then reverse engineer and mass produce. I worked with lots of Chinese post docs in science and the people themselves are awesome... but the govt... not so much

Make him president again

Yea China does shaddy shit absolutely no doubt. At the same time the US still has diplomatic relationships with China. The spy device narrative doesnt really make much sense as trying to spy with such a big device is just laughable tbh. I wonder if we will ever know what exactly it was. Im not sure how you retrieve weather balloons like that, im sure i can find out on the internet if i cared to look.
