Imagine they’re to study nuclear fallout out patterns? They said a “payload” was attached to these. Poor choice of words unless it actually had a weapon attached.

Posted earlier how in 2018 they did test a balloon with 3 hypersonic missiles. Pretty interesting little weapon.

In the most stunning evidence of China’s military use of stratospheric balloons, Chinese media including the military channel of state broadcaster CCTV reported in September 2018 that a high-altitude balloon tested hypersonic missiles.

Video footage carried by CCTV and reposted on social media app Douyin at the time, but now deleted, showed a balloon visually identical to the one over the US last week, carrying what looked like three different kinds of warheads.

According to Chinese media reports and a related Chinese Academy of Sciences research paper, they were models for “wide speed range” hypersonic vehicles, which can fly both below and above the speed of sound.

get as close as you can with balloons, as they seem to not be detected until relatively close to our airspace, and then launch hypersonic missiles to key targets.

Not that I think they will do that, anytime soon, but if they wanted to fuck around, that would be an interesting tactic

I'm pretty sure the first balloon had surveillance equipment. If they found hypersonic nuclear missiles in the wreckage the response would be much more severe I think.

that videos been edited, the original objects doesn't look like 1940s grenades.
But yeah, they still defy what we know, the original videos are of the "tic tack" ufos
