Never know what to expect from China.

Even if this is real, and it is built, who is to say its effectiveness in combat.. this modern Chinese military has literally never been involved in war.

That is a positive and a negative, of course. They just haven't been tested, though. Maybe they are as good as they claim, or maybe it is all a mirage and they are frauds when it is time to really go.

We won't ever know until the moment of truth.

What does that mean? Are u saying they’re fishing w naval boats?
More like a militia.

China's fishing fleet is part of a maritime militia that operates alongside the Chinese military and law enforcement. The militia is also known as the People's Armed Forces Maritime Militia (PAFMM) or Fishery Militia.

Remember when Imperial Japan built gigantic warships because it realized it was hopelessly outclassed in numbers and industrial capacity?

Remember what happened to Imperial Japan?

Are you saying China is outclassed industrial capacity?

China is developing power projection platforms, logistics, and infrastructure. That is undeniable.

What they lack is experience or a military structure capable of dealing with the dynamic nature of war.

I'm not worried about their carriers. I am worried about them currently conducting asymmetrical and multi domain warfare while America pretends it isn't happening. The bio weapons, spy Ballon delivery systems, bought politicians, thousands of sleepers currently in America, outright theft of IP and military secrets, etc. That's the shit that worries me.
kind of blows my mind how many people fail to think in terms of fifth-generational warfare when it has been the primary front for the past decade

talk about over compensating for something. M I rite guys?

Clever design of the British Queen Elizabeth class flight deck and lifts means they are not far behind at 100 sorties a day, if they ever had the jets.

I'm curious why the Queen Elizabeth is the only one without an angled runaway. I assume the angle is to shave a few seconds off sorties by allowing incoming planes to start landing while others are taking off. Any military nerds?

Very true, but if that moment of truth ever happens, no one will know for very long because there won't be anyone left. Multiple nations in the world possess apocalyptic power which prevents them from ever going to war against each other so the rest of the details don't matter all that much.

The HMS Queen Elizabeth doesn't have any catapult or arresting systems to launch and land jets like US carriers. It was built to only support helicopters and F-35s that are capable of short takeoffs and vertical landings.

The angled flight deck on US carriers serves multiple purposes one of which is to allow for simultaneous takeoff and landing, having the second deck also allows them to get jets in the air much faster.

The USS Gerald R Ford even has two catapults on each deck so as soon as they launch one they have another hooked up on the other cat, ready to go on that same deck.
