You don’t really need to play guard to get him off of you. Gilbert is not a known guard player and Hazmat was not willing to grapple with him.RDR is good, MUCH better than his initial sloppy stinker vs Meerschaert showed. (I was like "Ugh, another guy that's good and comes to the UFC and forgets how to fight".) But as good a grappler as he is, he won't have answers for Khamzat. You can't win against a grappler as talented as Khamzat playing guard. He's not just some really gifted wrestler. He's a brilliant all around grappler that will be in front of RDR in most transitions and will either keep top control or advance if RDR gets aggressive with his guard.
Isn’t Aspinall vs Gane headlining that card? I assume they want Khamzat to be the headliner when he fights because he’s a pretty big star so I don’t know if I can see them putting him as a co-main. I also don’t know if they would have him headline over the heavier guys, I think the only examples of that happening are Conor’s title fights and Khamzat isn’t quite the star Conor was.I smell Chimaev vs RDR in Abu Dhabi...
Doesn't matter really. It would be a card with two title fights. Not many ppl are interested in Gane vs Aspinall on the real, so Khamzat on the card is what will bring in the views.Isn’t Aspinall vs Gane headlining that card? Yeah that’s kinda what I mean, I think they would want to have his name as the headliner so people know he’s fighting. Maybe I’m overestimating how much of a difference that would make though.Doesn't matter really. It would be a card with two title fights. Officially headlining or not, with Khamzat Chimaev's name involved is what will advertise the card. Not where on the card he fights.Yeah that’s kinda what I mean, I think they would want to have his name as the headliner so people know he’s fighting. Was that the first Khamzat fight you had watched? What kind of fight approach would Khamzat take, a more stand-up fight? I guarantee a high level jiujitsu guy like RDR wouldn't be held in a crucifix for 25 minutes.

It’s more about frames, creating space, scrambles and maybe a few submission attempts here and there.
I have heard that Finfou is still subbing hazmat left and right. They are for sure able to develop his defensive game, but for sure the strategy will be first and foremost to stay out of those situations, which means lay and pray or standing up.
Maybe Burns needs to move to middleweight then, so people over here claim that he is bigger than hazmat anyway…Maybe for a bit. RDR looked exhausted not too long into the fight with Bobby. To his credit he kept fighting but Khamzat can drain his gas tank early by just making him carry his weight against the cage, etc. That removes most of any possible threat and from there it's a wrap.

RDR is a serious problem for him, on the mat. He's even bigger than DDP, but has great grappling and JJB.
