it's called being a heel, and Belal doesn't have the most exciting style so he is following in the proud tradition of Askren, Sonnen and Nickal. i suppose you live and die by the sword.

but i tend to judge arrogance based on what a fighter does or doesn't do in the gym. it's clear that Belal is a (bad) shit-talker but he seems to be humble in the gym as evidenced by how much he has improved and how well he shows up on fight night. he gave JDM all he could handle.

Bo Nickal is arrogant to me not because of his promos but because of the ethic he brings to practice. I don't think Belal has that problem.

Belal and Khamzat were beefing a couple of years ago.

Then Khamzat spoke out about Palestine and Belal said he's now my Muslim brother and they were seen holding a Palestinian flag together.

Then before this fight Belal, out of nowhere, went on Submission Radio talking about how he would beat Khamzat and even drown him in a fight. So now all of a sudden he was looking to fight Khamzat and talking big like that.

So this was Khamzat's response essentially now that Belal made it clear they weren't Muslim brothers after all.
