This is news as the talk about climate change even thought the previous record was reported at 64 degrees and some reports say it was only 62 degrees others are saying they seen as high as 68 degrees. But more interesting is this they are seeing consecutive days of temps reaching into the 60 degree range. Now climate scientists talk about weather events in a 2 degree level change many areas are seeing vastly higher numbers for an overall picture. Australia is seeing out of control wildfires throughout most of the Country and little effect at stopping the growth of these fires.

People are pretty upset at Australian Government for lack of action at containing the fires or just limited efforts. But more and more around the world environmental events are far worst then originally planned. Most climate scientists thought we would be talking about these events by 2030 not now by their estimates.

I heard the previous ice ages were record lows. Those dinosaurs and their SUVs. When will we ever learn.

Is it weather, or the climate?

the fires are started somehow.

In California most of the big wildfires were started by people. Homeless people with fires get the blame.

i think people may be setting them on purpose. Great drain on a nation, and the west is full of people who hate the west.

Please stop.

When you have a data set that shows this extreme weather is accelerating, I am more than all ears.

No datasets just reality ask Australians how they are doing this summer. 120 degrees Fahrenheit

Oh' @PEB, this is the equivalent to denying climate change because it snowed a lot somewhere.

Sure, but why do you think that helps your argument?
People assume that if it's snowing in April it means climate change is a left wing fake news. VP Al Gore calling it global warming VS climate change and the right ran with it. Global warming is still going on but it changes weather patterns worldwide and to look at one area is not the complete picture. Russia suffered from massive forest fires and Australia been dealing with record temps and fires. California been dealing with fires and Texas has been fighting flooding last year more freak weather coming.

But you can't have one without the other. We've also had record lows all across the globe, along with snowfalls. They cancel each other out, but it just so happens the warmer climates are effected a lot more from extreme conditions due to flooding and fires, than the colder ones, which don't really have to deal with catastrophic conditions, because we've prepared for them since the moment a human went "Brrrr, this is fucking cold!"

The warmer climates have to figure out their defenses, now that their warm paradise is working against them. It certainly won't be solved by taxes, I can tell you that.

I’d rather take this than a white Christmas, fuck the snow.

Can you cite or point to where you’ve read the temperature changes are such that they are canceled out? Hadn’t heard that before, curious.

Well, 9 of Australia's 10 warmest years on record have been in the last 15 years. Snow is expected to happen, runs of record temperatures aren't.

There's an argument to be made that both of those (record highs and lows) would point to more extreme weather patterns caused by weird temperature shifts. Wouldn't many of these defenses you mention be paid for with tax dollars?
