First things first, deep dish "pizza" is more like a meat casserole or a lasagna with a crust. It does not resemble nor taste anything like pizza. There's no debate as New York style pizza sh!ts all over Chicago style "pizza".
The idea with pizza for me is less is more. Being able to grab a slice, hold it and be on your way is delicious and a great balance. I don't want to eat my pizza with a spoon or a fork.
Sorry for the rant but a friend of mine took me out for deep dish pizza for lunch and I absolutely hated it. How the people in Chicago think this is great pizza is beyond me.
