Chester Township Police Department arrests man for loitering in front of his own home

chester county is pretty crime ridden. unsurprising to see that response from police in that neighborhood. my pops and grandfather grew up there.

I'll fix this for ya...... Chester (the city) is a shit hole, has been for a long time. Chester County on the other hand is actually mostly affluent (If you take out Coatesville).

ha, apologies, I meant Chester (city) in delco. location of my first jiu jitsu gym.

My spidey sense is tingling that this guy is probably a shitbag and uncomfortable presence for his neighbors, but the cops need to find another charge than loitering if he's on his own property or within a few feed of it. If he's being an asshole then there needs to be a reasonable charge like harassment, disturbing the peace, or something like that.

I'm guessing it's not his property to boot and it's just part of the story we're trying to be sold, but I've been wrong before so that is also a possibility.

“Number 5, never sell no crack where you rest at. I don’t care if they want a ounce tell em bounce”

Obviously we'll never hear the follow up when both sides of the story are out, but you can be sure "cops just beat up a guy and arrested him for standing in his yard talking to someone" is not what really happened.

My guess is the neighborhood has a problem with drug dealing or car break ins, cops were patrolling and this guy was making a big deal and being contentious instead of just telling the cops he lives there so they could move on.

Simeone literally says that on the video.

Remember that if you did nothing wrong, your going to jail and we will kill if if you resist.

And half of the people here will say to comply with being arrested for literally nothing, because they are pathetic bootlicking worms.

yeah definite possibility. I just don't care enough to dig and probably there won't be anything there except this outrage piece and the cops doing their damage control.

Do worms have tongues?

What a bizzare story...

Reminds me of this one:

"Sit down!"
"No."
"Then you're probably gonna get tased"
"Why?"
"Because you have a weapon!"
"I have a weapon? I'm picking up trash on my own property. I dont have a weapon!"
"That's a weapon!"
"This is a bucket!"
"No that's a weapon!"
"This is a clamper for picking up trash"

Reads like a skit.

Cops should have just lit him and his family up and taken their possessions as civil forfeiture because they probably drug dealers

Am I doing the racist bigotry thing that you all love so much in the WR correctly? Or am I being a little light handed?

Like others have pointed out there's gotta be more to this story, otherwise these cops would already be gone for such a bizarre overreach.
This is the refrain we heard for years and years before dash/body cams became more widespread. "He must have been whooped because he was resisting, there is more to the story..."What they have shown is that sometimes (yes, not all the time) cops can be assholes.

Black folks can't stay inside or outside they home no more...

When I lived across down, there was a black family who lived in the duplex next door. They were all super friendly and nice to everyone.

An adult black male lived there and rode a loud motorcycle and sometimes had biker friends over. They would usually hang out in the driveway. Not nuisances. They didn't sit in the driveway revving their bikes or anything. Just hanging out and shooting the shit.

About half the time they were hanging out, cops would come by and question them. Not harrass them, and they always seemed decent as far as cops go. Found out after a while that a neighbor called the cops every time they saw a gathering of black folks in the driveway, reporting suspicious activity.

My neighborhood back then borders one of the city's worst neighborhoods and there were a lot of lower-middle class white busybodies who were paranoid. But calling the police every time you see a few black guys hanging out is next level pathetic bullshit. They probably have the same mindset as the guys in here who are basically saying "black guy hanging out leaning against a car? probably a drug dealer".

I wonder if all the posters defending the Nazi who had is guns taken are in here defending this guy. If not, I wonder why.
