Chess - Path towards World Chess Championship (Gukesh Dommaraju vs Ding Liren)

Knockout stage is set.

Magnus vs Hans tomorrow.

<{jackyeah}>

i'm getting a bunch of chess videos in my youtube recommended feed now ever since i started watching some random videos on opening strategies and one of these videos that came up and i decided to view is of this magnus carlsen guy getting smoked by some 18 year old and he pretty much ran the clock out and then rage quit before the time expired.

i don't know anything about professional chess but from what i understand this magnus dude is supposed to be really good. but is it normal for people in professional chess to rage quit in the middle of a game?

but this announcer guy is pound for pound greatness right here and it was the only thing that kept me watching. sounded like i was listening to a championship sports game. starting at 14:10 after magnus made an epic blunder with his knight this commentator started losing his shit. i wish i could get into a board game the way this guy has. give this man his raise!

i finally found someone who is worse at chess than i am! either that or he was just completely taken off guard by my opening strategy that he didn't know how to react and it psychologically gotten into his head and completely threw him off of his game.

i don't know how else to explain it, but i just humiliated some guy in a game of chess just by playing checkers.

look what i just did to this poor soul, with the most unorthodox, degenerate, and disgusting opening strategy that i could muster up. and after i got done pushing all of my pawns out, i threw up a bongcloud just to assert my dominance before i put the pressure on his entire army with my king.

and here is the analysis video of how it all turned out:

there is just so much wrong with this opener that the analysis guy must think that i'm either on some heavy drugs, or i placed a massive bet against myself right before the game started.

beautiful opener right here, moving up all of the pawns, throwing up the bongcloud, cockblocking my own rook and queen with my king, and then threatening the knight with a pawn. that knight immediately had some beef with me over that and tried to pick a fight with my king, putting it into check forcing a tactical retreat to its original spot only for the king to quickly emerge and bitch slap that knight right off the board within the very next two turns. yeah bitch that's whats up, when i originally threaten your knight with one of my pawns, you give that knight up or you get clapped up. fuck around and find out!

i could have captured a bunch of his pieces easier but i wanted to stick to using my pawns and king as much as possible. i absolutely did not give two shits about any other pieces on the board and i just let them sit there, and he could have just waltzed right in there and taken every one of them yet somehow all he managed to capture from me was a rook and three pawns.

but the dude stolen my glory and rage quit right before i was going to execute the grand finale.

oddly enough i ditched my queen unguarded early on in the game on a meaningless spot that was even deemed to be a blunder, and yet it ended up becoming clutch at the end of the game, trapping the rook completely and putting his king in a double check after i captured his other rook with my....pawn, ensuring that i would be able to capture that rook in two moves with either my queen or my king, depending on which one of the two possible squares the king moved to. but he rage quit on me right then and there! he simply just had enough of my shenanigans.

what a way to go out though, worked over by your opponents king, put into check by your opponents pawn, completely fucked over by their completely idle, abandoned, unguarded and long forsaken queen while all the rest of the pieces just sat there with their thumbs up their ass.

i made like a dozen mistakes and blunders but the way i see it i put on an impeccable performance. just like we drew up in practice. i put that king in check with just my king and my pawn. and my queen didn't even need to be on the board and i didn't wan't it there either and i ditched it in the worst possible spot, but my opponent was clearly too intimidated by my tactical maneuvers to try to go after it.

Magnus has a strong argument for GOAT. There's enough written about him that not much needs to be said. People will resign if they know they've lost. It's rare to see a game end in an actual checkmate at the professional level. That was a pretty tame/respectful resignation.

The commentator is Sagar Shah from India. I don't watch him too much but he's one of the better commentators/media personalities. No one works harder than that guy. He does his best to give platforms to everyone. He's been covering the current crop of Indian kids since they were really young. You'd probably like his channel.

i beat a whole shit load of people from india yesterday. i guess they like chess over there because i'm getting more opponents from india than america. made just about all of them rage quit. i'm making everybody rage quit. hell i'm at over 340 games under my belt now in under a week, because almost everybody rage quits on me as soon as i start fucking up their shit.

on top of my 8-15 second scholars mates, these games are all ending hella fast. all it takes is a capture of their queen and sometimes even just their rook or both knights or bishops and they simply just fold. whereas i've made all kinds of fuck ups and i stay in it, some of the games i end up winning, others i have got my ass kicked. and some end in a draw or stalemate, or better yet a win for me after my opponents run out of time trying to chase down my king! they must get so fucking pissed when they offer up a draw in the last minute of the game and i decline. you were in no hurry to make your moves for the first 8 minutes of the game, it's your own damn fault. hurry up! or jaldee karo as they say in hindi.

but then again my opponents fuck up just as much as i do in the game, and at a professional level i guess one or two big mistakes and you're probably fucked no matter what hey? there's no point of sticking around just to rely on your opponent making some epic blunders right after you did, just so that you can get back into the game.

i don't know what it is. i try to give these people a fast and fair game. the last guy rage quit on me after i trolled the fuck out of him by paying no mind to any of my other pieces on the board, and i simply just moved my king all around the board while he relentlessly pursued me. i captured one of his bishops and then his queen and that was it for him, he didn't want anymore of that smoke.

check that one out:

only 8 blunders this time. i guess my chess game is getting more on point!

i guess losing his queen and bishop was just too much to handle and it was clear to him that he has lost the game, when all i was doing was moving my king around the board.

my king is no threat to his. does he really need to have a queen on the board just to checkmate an unguarded king that is just out for its morning stroll along the chess board? there's no need to just give up just yet. bro, when i'm playing serious i'm straight up trading queens with you as early as i can, on top of every other piece you have, even if i only capture an extra pawn in the process, or even nothing at all. i'll go knight for bishop or vice versa all day long with you too! i know it's probably stupid, but it will make it harder for you to chase my pawns around the board during endgame and i might run you out of time!

if you can't win without a queen, then best of luck to you i guess. just try to promote a pawn or something and go get another one. no need to quit out on me just because it's early on in the game and you don't have a queen.

what does he think i'm going to do? fuck him up with my king like i did to the last few guys? bro i just started playing this shit last week and the way that i see things, my king is never threatened. my king is the one who does the threatening. the rest of my pieces are all a bunch of spineless cowards who are too afraid to stand and bang in the pocket. my king has a set of balls and he gives them a tug. my king is battle hardened. he doesnt cower and hide behind an entire army and high tail it outta there every time that he senses any threat!

anyways, i don't know what this strategy that i employed is called, but this one paid off too! make sure to like and subscribe for more chess tips and strategies!

Yeah there's been a rise in popularity in chess in India in recent years. A lot of India's success is owed to Vishy Anand.

At the pro level you can't really make any mistakes. Those guys are incredible at magnifying missteps. Even under time pressure and in scrambles they can spot things so quickly and make their opponents pay.

Legit laughed at Ke2. A lot of players are probably trying to work on opening theory and you're taking them out of it instantly. Pretty funny. They don't really know how to make you pay for it. One of the criticisms of chess now is that people are so focused on theory that they don't really have very good intuition or instincts. If you have decent intuition and can take them out of their comfort zone/simple theory then you can be successful. They may also think you're trolling a bit and lose concentration after a while.

if i'm black i just tend to copy my opponents move for move until i see an opening i can take an advantage of and then i go with that and then all hell breaks loose and we end up going tit for tat capturing each others pieces until there's nothing left but pawns and maybe a rook and a bishop left on the board.

its funny too because we'll have all our pieces threatening each other at once and my opponents dont seem to care, they just keep on doing their thing and getting their pieces to the center of the board. but as soon as i make a totally different move and capture something and even go for a fork on a bishop, shit hits the fan and we suddenly just start trading piece for piece.

i find it rather amusing. other times when i start copying my opponent they end up getting me in a check eventually and it throws off my pattern and then after that i'll have to start playing my own game. the odd time it has resulted in a checkmate that i didnt even see coming, and i could have landed as well if i would have just been able to go first and done all of those moves.

i'm straight up just out to troll people in any ways that i can. i'm getting a kick out of this shit, but i doubt i'll ever be that good at the game. hell i screwed up and got hit with the scholars mate yesterday. even though that was my go-to starting method starting out and i even learned how to defend against it and then punish the other guy for attempting it. i even knew what he was going for straight away but stupid me i somehow moved up the wrong pawn. feels bad man.

yeah when it comes to board games i guess i'm a bit of a douchebag in the game of chess. but i'm a whole lot of douchebag when it comes to the game of risk. from all of my antics during long drawn out games, i'm very certain that i have made some people cry.

Magnus squandering a 2-0 lead. Both Open and Women going to tiebreaks.

the cream always rises to the top, ohhhh yeahhhhh. GET SOME!

Magnus vs Nepo final.

heard it went to a draw. wouldn't have happened on my watch. my opponent would still be chasing my king around trying to finish me off, while the east indian commentator exclaims bashfully that there is something very very wrong with this guy.

actually, in a display of dominance i would probably just fork over my queen in the 3rd or 4th move and then just resign and collect my paycheck, just to save my opponent any future embarassment.

It's hilarious that Hans has become the most rational person in the room.

They drew three tiebreakers and then just decided to clear the room.

Watching you dance your king around the board against some poor bastard would actually be much better than that outcome.

they would have no gameplan to counter my stupidity and they would fold under pressure because they have never played an idiot quite like me before!

imagine getting beaten (forced into a draw in this case) by a dude who only plays his king. i think i might try that next time. surely after i capture a few of my opponents pieces with my king they will have no idea what i am doing or be able to anticipate my next move. and besides, pushing my pawns around is too much work.

one day i'm gonna win a game by taking it one square at a time. literally.

By the way, I forgot to mention that your 1e4, ke2 opening has a name. It's called the bongcloud. I'm pretty sure that as soon as people see it they assume you're trolling.

That being said, Magnus Carlsen has used it so you're in good company.

i am aware.

i also have a couple bongcloud victories under my belt.

i ended up destroying this guy after starting off with the bongcloud. but he sure fucked up worse than i did.

the bongcloud is by far the most intimidating and demoralizing opening in all of chess. i'm surprised more people don't apologize to me and resign immediately after i strike fear into them by moving up my king

Scrolling through that game...I'm not sure what I just witnessed.

neither do most of my opponents. like i said, the bongcloud is the most intimidating move in all of chess. after i threw up the bongcloud my opponent didn't know what the hell to do anymore. i threw him off his game so badly with it that he had no idea what the hell he was doing afterwards. l folded him like a lawn chair.

i made a pretty epic blunder with my knight which quickly spiraled into me capturing his queen and both of his rooks in a beautiful 3 move chain, just like we drew up in practice, and after that i just walked all over his pawns. even let him take my rook just so i could get a faster mate.

I was going to comment on nf6 but I was in awe of the whole thing and didn't want to nitpick.

Your rating is increasing. You're on your way to becoming Sherdog's first GM.
