Cheaters, marriage and divorce.

No it is not. In the U.S. the divorce rate is 50% or higher. Of the other 50%, 30% are married out of convenience. Only 20%, or less, are truly happy in their marriage. I don't think it has anything to do with money, power, education, or background. People just don't want to put the time and effort it takes to make a good marriage work.

I gave u links. U just ignore and go on your own tangent? First rate marriages last 65-75%. It's the divorcées who will divorce multiple times that inflate the stat.

objectively, once women became relative equals in society (say the 70s, or even 90s whatever) there became no reason for men to get married unless you're religious

sure you get tax benefits, but what else, exactly? ............ nothing you couldn't also get from a long term, serious relationship where no marriage is involved

b/c when it likely ends, unless you're a stay at home dad/husband you're done son. So not only would you likely have supported (partially, or fully) someone else making them a dependent not a spouse, you then OWE THEM money after or at least splitting assets they did nothing or little to earn.....Wait, what? Shouldn't they OWE YOU backpay for supporting them? You ideally support a female daughter till the age of 18, you don't then owe them money and meals b/c they are used to that and it's all they know, right? Why is an adult spouse any different?

It's an antiquated system (divorce, mainly) based simultaneously on the premise that we're all equals, and women are completely inferior and apparently can't support themselves
edit: not 'women' per se, but whomever earns less or is more likely to be the stay at home spouse....

Actually divorce by % has gone down. Yes, ur correct when big feminist movements happen the divorce rates go up like in 70s.

Again ppl aren't reading what I wrote or posted.

I don't know where you're from, but US divorce rate is 50% with 80% of divorces being initiated by women. In California, the divorce rate is 60%.

Yea Cali has celebrities and stars and athletes.

Goddammit, at least pay attention to what TS is saying: people who become multiple divorcées artificially drive up divorce rates. 1st time marriages are 75% likely to last until death, but there are people out there getting married and divorced many times in their lives making it seem like marriage is less likely to succeed than it really is. If you marry a woman from a stable home who has never been divorced before, your statistical chance of having a long, faithful marriage is very good.

Holy hell someone read what I wrote. Lol thanks!

This is quite interesting to me. My parents divorced before I was two, my mother has several broken long term relationships and was a serial cheater when I was a kid - but interestingly has now been married to the same guy for 20-some years. My dad's gone through many women, but has never settled down and will probably grow old alone.

Yet I'm in a stable relationship of 14 years, which has produced three kids and I'm not yet 40 - my lady is in her early 30'ies and from an afluent family and a stable home with no cheating as far as I know. My own folks were hippies.

I couldn't help myself flirting when I was in my 20'ies, but mostly managed to restrain things and stay within accetable limitations, still I'm a bit of a hypocrite because I wouldn't have wanted my woman doing what I was doing then. My wife's flirted with one guy long ago which I caught her doing and put my foot down pretty hard - she's given me no cause for jealousy since. I suppose I should be a big red flag according to these statistics, but all things considered I've probably been more moral than most guys I know.

Good on you. Serious. Just because stats are stats doesn't mean you need to be one of the stats.

Kind of like broken homes = a higher chance of future prison time. It doesn't mean you will.

Yes, it has to be the millions and millions of celebrities and athletes. Not the millions of options that aren't your wife.

The average woman isn't worthy of a good marriage. That's all there is to it. We all know as guys what it really takes to keep our interests. And we all know our woman would rather take advice from another lonely miserable woman than listen to us about what it takes.

Your woman's lingerie can tell u most of what u need to know. If she wears that Victoria's Secret shit that none of us are ever excited to see in a porno, then you're probably fucked.

IDC to argue. I gave 7-8+ worth of links.

Give people stats and people don't change opinions. Its not me, its you. Good luck.

Celebrities, athletes, and high up jobs are more likely.

You may get cheated on by a person. Stats aren't for everyone.

I just gave stats and links. Its what it is.

I don't need your stats or your opinion. No offense, but I'm actually happily married. Simply stating why the rest of u are fucked.

Women would rather listen to other women when it comes to satisfying men. Even if they don't like each other in general. And even if they know the advice is coming from someone as miserable as they are.

I'm happily married for 10.5 years and 14 overall. So again, you stated your opinion over facts.

Surprised that emergency services and/or military didn't make the top three. Definite culture changes in the former over recent years but the latter is nearly unavoidable, it seems.

You can get married without having a dependent spouse. Two incomes >>> one.

Seems reasonable. Most divorced folks i know have been divorced multiple times. I wonder if it's always been them that is the problem, or their past mistakes have made them cynical and more likely to repeat because of the previous failings? Could you even find that out one way or another?

I don't need to read your links. I have my own sources. This is what you said and that is what I'm responding to.

Divorce happens 50% of the time. That is a huge myth on all marriages.

Again, in the U.S., divorce rate is at 50% or higher. I don't care about the cheating part.

Only reason I’m not divorced is because I don’t want my kids to suffer not knowing why daddy kicked their bitch mom out of the house.

I had to stop after checking your first two sources.

First one is a article by some suburban Mom with with kids, who cites a study with only 300 participants, and only of college students...hardly representative.

Second one is for a business that provides, at a cost, PI services...no way they're biased.

It's higher then 30%.

Once you're married, chicks who wouldn't give you the time of day before start throwing themselves at you. That's part of the problem imo.

I don't even wear a ring. I think it's just that you gain an aloofness or confidence that attracts them.

These deniers are usually religious types. After all, religion plays a huge roll in the idea of "marriage", and I'm sure they're not biased at all (right). In the end, it's doesn't matter the exact percentage, a HIGH number of marriages fail, regardless of what source is referenced. It is what it is.

The problem is this, people assume that just because a couple is still married, they're happy, and that's far from true. A high percentage of 'still' married couples are not happy, or in successful marriages.

So, the most important number is this: what's the percentage of happy, functioning, successful marriages...and I guarantee you, it's low as fuck, probably a 1 in 5 figure. THAT'S the only stat that matters.

Marriage is obsolete.

I'm not religious at all. For the marriage part I gave you studies through the years and decades. Most marriages last for whatever reason and those that divorce are likely to remarry and divorce again driving up the % of divorcees.

All I know is that banging trannies does not count! lol

I had a good friend back in the day and judged him poorly for sleeping around. 25 years later I understand why he had a couple girlfriends on the side. Not my thing, but in the world today it seems like if you aren't playing, then you're getting played. It's kind of sad, but it's reality.
