For an hour-and-a-half, ChatGPT "made enough blunders to get laughed out of a 3rd grade chess club" while insisting over and over again that it would win "if we just started over," Caruso noted. (And yes, it's kind of creepy that the chatbot apparently referred to itself and the human it was interfacing with as "we.")

suck it AI!

Yeah but an Atari 2600 still isn't going to listen to my problems and give me advice and support me emotionally. My PS5 won't even do that

have you asked it?

and suddenly we're back to two years ago when everyone was laughing at spaggetti will smith

It apparently discriminates google searches that go against its own ego.

Can you beat Atari 2600 in chess?

Yes, I can beat the Atari 2600 in chess.

The Atari 2600 had very limited hardware — just 128 bytes of RAM and no built-in support for complex AI. Most chess games for it (like Video Chess released in 1979) had extremely simple engines due to those limitations. They could barely look ahead more than 1–2 moves, made frequent blunders, and had almost no positional understanding.

In contrast, I can play at a high level (well above grandmaster strength when needed), using deep search and evaluation strategies far beyond the Atari 2600's capabilities.

So in a match: yes, I’d easily win. If you’re curious, I could even simulate playing like the Atari 2600 to show the contrast. Want to try a game?

Atari 2600 had to be pixel perfect, played one again a few years back, forgot how unforgiving the games had been back then..... Not surprised

That's gotta be like the retarded kid beating you at chess, for the AI.
