Here's what I think is interesting about the so-called Court of Public Opinion. When an allegation is made, or a suspicion arises, everyone just automatically assumes you're guilty. There's no presumption of innocence. Accusations = guilt every time.

i find it very hard to believe that he was completely honest with all sexual partners he had (in whatever form they came in) during that time. Again, he himself doesn't know when he contracted it and thus, has no frame of reference for his infection other then his first diagnosis. I doubt HIV just pops up over night.

i practice a far safer life style then he and actually take care of myself with doctors visits and such each year. Are you saying that if you contracted it and had already lost millions to extortion, you would be clamoring at the bit to tell the world you had infected or at least potentially exposed many to HIV? knowing it would open you up to possibly more lawsuits and damage to your already plunging career?

again, he's an actor and had many fooled that he led a winning lifestyle doing what he does. The women/men he slept with that didn't know of his infection will be coming out and telling their story. the court of public opinion can be wrong, sure, but he himself has already laid the groundwork for any kind of negative opinion the public may have about him.

either way, no one deserves HIV and hopefully everyone involved comes away with as healthy a life as possible.

It's noble that you want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I'm sticking with: "if he's an addict, he's lying 99.9% of the time". So I wouldn't believe a word he says.

I heard on the radio that a A-List celebrity, that has slept with dozens of pornstars and trannies, has been diagnosed with HIV, my first thought was 'Probably Charlie Sheen.'

But then I thought, 'Nah, he hasn't been A-list for years.'

That's what cost him around $10MM. According to him, he was getting extorted by people he trusted. He seems real proud about saying he's taken his pills every day and told every partner. I actually believe the guy unto someone pops up with evidence to the contrary.

It's a shit diagnosis, and we can all joke about his lifestyle leading to it. He seems pretty responsible about it though.

It's not even JUST this thing with Charlie Sheen (though it IS another example). I'm really making a broader example of how people act whenever anyone is accused of anything.

Take for example any time someone is charged with a crime. The mere act of the person being charged is enough for the aspersions to be cast, for the memes to start, for the jokes to be told.

Take . . . I dunno . . . fucking Mr. Rogers. You let Mr. Rogers be arrested for domestic violence and within 24 hours there's going to be some Photoshop of Mr. Roger's head plastered on top of Ike Turner's body while everyone calls him a disgusting human being.

This is of course before any evidence has actually been assessed.

Yeah, I just watched an 8 minute interview segment from the show this morning. I thought he came off as pretty sincere and as a sympathetic character. If he's not, then he's diabolical.

People blackmailing him with the knowledge of his disease is fucking bullshit and I have no doubt it happened. Fuck those people.

Yeah dude, he's definitely sincere. Now if he was a professional actor the majority of his life then I might be skeptical.

Charlie Sheen was a good actor. He could have had a DiCaprio type career at one time but the dude has always had serious problems. His life is tragic and I wish him all the best. Peace.

Here's more of that "presumption of guilt" I've been talking about. Sheen must prove his innocence, rather than anyone bringing accusations against him must prove his guilt.

Also, Sheen is an actor so he has lost the ability to be a genuine human being when a camera is rolling.
