Kirk definitely did not deserve to be brutally murdered as he was and we should all condemn political violence. But he does deserve to be made fun of given he engaged in tasteless honor himself and furthermore Kirk was a negative influence on the country who should not be remembered fondly.

You can disagree with how that poster characterized the war in Gaza but the point is Kirk was happy to make light of the suffering of civilians in Gaza in a fairly crass way. If someone joked like that about the dead civilians from the 9/11 wars that would also be tasteless.

To be clear I'm not saying Kirk deserved to die for that, not at all. For one we need to have space for crass, dark humor. Certainly for comedians but not just for them, as much as I hate how decorum in politics has devolved I do think there is room for dark humor among political commentators.

But that said if you speak ill of the dead in life don't be surprised if it's done to you

Everyone here knows how you really feel but can't actually express it without penalty. But I'm sure you are more noble than the rest of the cast here and truly are a fantastic person lol

You can pretend to read my mind or you can deal with what I wrote there which I fully stand by, namely that political violence is wrong and what happened to Kirk should be condemned at the same time that I think he deserves to be made fun of.
