Khabib took a few leg kicks, never got dropped or hurt, and took justin down and nearly subbed him as well.

Applying this standard of "tomato cans" to just a random selection of notable (champs or recent champs):

Well over 50% of Volk's wins are over "tomato cans" by that standard.
Stipe has a 50% tomato can rate, and a terrible record overall.
Nearly 50% of Anderoid's streak were cans or close to cans.
More than 50% of Adesanya's record are either tomato cans or totally unranked washed up guys.
More than 50% of Jan's wins were over cans.
50% of Ngannu's wins are again over total cans or a couple mega super duper washed up fossils that might as well be cans.
50%+ of Whitaker's wins are over bums and cans.
Figaredo? Moreno? You could make the same claims over the majority of the manlet classes as well.

I know you're a fan of the oldschool, it's mind boggling how a fan of such stature and experience can hang on the nuts so hard of a massive overhype. Biggest what if in MMA. I get that's it's angering as a fan, but come back to earth mate.

I'm not hanging on to Khabib's nuts - while I think he is a phenom and one of the best fighters of recent (ish) years, I don't think his record is GOAT deep. It's a very good record and his dominance is ridiculous, but depth wise its not out of this world.

Khabib has definitely attracted a lot of casual new fans after he beat Conor who dick ride him annoyingly, but let's be fair here- a lot of his criticism is lame and a lot of recent Charles fans are clearly just butt hurt at Khabib.

That's why I think the "tomato can" claim is ridiculous, because it can be extended to most of the roster- but weirdly enough isn't brought up on some of the fighters I mentioned (and many others) nearly as often.

I thought he was awesome too, but as noted, huge question marks from a career/legacy perspective. 13 fights in the bigs just doesn't cut it in most discussions.

Also the idea that Stipe has a 50% can rate is absurd. The man had won and defended the belt in the same number of fights Khabib was still padding his record with regional nobodies.

Most of your comparisons to other records are quite frankly, attrocious. Nobody you mentioned started out with 16 warmup fights against literal nobodies.

You guys are so desperate to diminish Khabib that you're trying to change reality by claiming Olives performed better than Khabib despite the fact that Olives almost got finished in every title fight, and Khabib was never in serious danger in any title fight. Up is down and down is up.

Really? Let's take a look.

Stipe had 20 wins.
He started that with 9 straight up cans or unraked guys. Later fought Fabio. That is literally 50% CANS making up his vaunted record.
And before you say it- If guys like Shahbulat, Eldarov and Bagov on Khabib's record are "cans", then guys like Shane Del Rosario (RIP) are cans on Stipe's record.

You can quote Stipe's title defenses/name opponents all you want- the fact is 90% of them were guys who were washed up,older, with far more fight mileage and career time than Stipe....aside from Ngannu. How that is better than Khabib fighting fresh, contemporaries in his defenses?

Nah. Take away your preconceived notions, and objectively apply the same criterea to their records. You will find they also have similarly "bloated" records.
Some started with a bunch of cans, some had them throughout their record. Neither is better in any objective sense.
