Championship Belts

I believe the reason stated was that they didn't want to give a new belt each title fight(it was estimated to cost 300,000$ each) so they went with ruby thing for defending champions, so basically they were being cheap
They could've just slightly altered the design they had to add ruby spots.

But I don't think that's it anyway. There's no way they were paying 300k for those belts, especially back in the early days like 2003 or whenever they introduced them.

They also still seem to be giving out a new belt each time despite the rubies:

The previous UFC belt is so much more iconic than the one now.

Imo the new UFC belt is better than a lot of belts including the all gold one. The Alexa Grasso multicolor one is way cooler but that's a special custom one

The Rizin and Invicta ones are good, rest are meh tbh

One thing I like about the modern UFC belt is its 3D construction. Belts like the all gold UFC belt don't really impress me because it's just a flat sheet of metal you could have a machine emboss whatever design on. And you can't see the design well because it's all the same color

The modern UFC belt is a big improvement because it features the Octagon in its design, it has color contrast, it has a 3D sculpture presence, and it's clearly legible

Yeah it's not a very prestigious looking title.

I like the idea of a Dragon Gate style belt, where the title has a cabinet you can unlock to put inside the plaques of the contenders you've beaten. But I guess that's more of a thing fit for pride.

Dude. Thats a great idea. A rolling gate that has the face of everyone you defended against. The faces are silver. The belt is gold
