2014 - 2016 Renan Barao - After winning 32 fights in a row and finishing all three of his title defenses, Barao looked unbeatable until losing 3 of his last 4, and taking 2 beat downs from Dillashaw.

2015 and 2016 Anthony Pettis - In august of 2013, he became champion by submitting Bendo in the first round, he looked unstoppable destroying Melendez the following year, after winning 9 of his last ten fights he was destroyed by RDA and has lost 3 in a row all against opponents he would have been heavily favored against back in 2014.

Late 2015-2016 Ronda Rousey - Undefeated, all wins by finishes, gets blown out in the first 2 rounds and then hasn't fought again after 7 months, and has gotten re-injured, delaying any comeback for another 6 months or longer.

Who will be the next derailment?

To clarify, a derailment isn't a loss, its several consecutive losses that are 1 sided, OR in the case of Rousey being beaten into "semi-retirement"

Pettis man I don't understand what the hell happened. He's young, he's in his prime but it's like he lost something. He looked amazing versus Cowboy and Lauzon and he had slick subs versus Gil and Henderson nowadays it looks like he has no desire.

Lesnar, Brocktober was one and done.

If Aldo loses convincingly to Frankie next month he could be considered.

Exactly, I don't want people to get confused and throw out like "Conor" or "Cain" or "Aldo". Yeah, they lost or lost their belt or whatever, but they haven't actually gotten "derailed." Pettis could be cut after his next fight, Barao is another loss away from fading into obscurity and Ronda is awol. These were all fighters who went from unstoppable to barely mentioned within 2-3 years, and show no signs of bouncing back. Any predictions on who could be next? or if any of the current champions will at all?

I could see Lawler having a fast decline (mainly because of the wars he's been in) also Weidman is currently in danger of this.

I was disappointed with Holly Holm against Miesha Tate. Miesha spent a lot of time in Holly's realm and was largely untroubled but in the little time Holly spent in Miesha's realm, Miesha looked very dangerous and even securing a submission on I think what was the second time of asking.

IMO, he would have to lose by a lopsided decision or be knocked out by Edgar, and then either drop off the radar or lose another fight soon after to be officially "derailed" but I agree that he's at risk

Conor is in the process of being derailed right now.

Also, Weidman is never getting that belt back so he's being derailed right now also.

Conor got derailed and the only reason he's still champ is because he's ducking everyone. He's a fake champ that doesn't defend.

I agree Robbie has been in some battles in his last few fights out of the current champs I think he is probably the most vulnerable champ in terms of declining, he has a lot of mileage on him. Maybe RDA too just because of the fact that the lightweight division is a shark tank of talent.

Renan Barao
Ronda Rousey
Brock Lesnar
Chuck Liddell
Carla Esparza

Weidman. Conor hasn't lost where he has the belt though it remains to be seen if he can even still make the weight.

KO'd a legend who was unbeaten for a decade and never finished = fake champ? Lame, try harder next time.

Conor doesn't make fights, no fighter books their own fights. Stop blaming fighters for "holding up" belts when it's the suits who make all those decisions and always like to remind us that no fighter is above the company.
