Champion vs champion

The title said champion...CS was never a champ.

He was MW champion after he beat Anderson Silva, he then successfully defended it 3 times against Stann, Bisping and Silva again. He only relinquished it to take a shot at Jones!

No. The UFC, along with all fightsports, is about the biggest possible fight in the here and now in perpetuity. They always want to make the most money they can now, bottom line.

BJ Penn is the best example of this sort of issue...it did nothing to hurt his popularity losing to GSP, people just loved him more for having the cajones to seek out the biggest fight.

This isn't an issue for the UFC, the reason these fights don't happen is simply because champions don't want to move up in weight class. Safety first these days.

Yeah you're right. Man Bj was a warrior and didn't give a shit about weight, beast!

I think Might Mouse vs Dillashaw would be great.

BJ Penn vs GSP 2 brought so much hype to their weight classes. BJ Penn became super popular even though he lost. And he set record PPV numbers for LW title fights afterwards.

I think Might Mouse/TJ would bring a lot of attention to 125/135.

Damn UFC 94 was so sick, never been more hyped for a card.

MM vs the winner of TJ/Cruz would be awesome. If TJ wins he would have three defenses with wins over Barao and Cruz, a legit champ for a superfight. If Cruz wins its a rematch 5+ years in the making.

That is fucking bullshit.

Aldo was frothing at the mouth to fight Pettis but the UFC shut it down.

"These days"

lol

It's happened once in UFC history.

FW/LW probably the best to have it happen again, they are the closest weight classes.

If Conor and Donald win I could see UFC booking that fight.

Been done once with Penn, talked about a lot with others

MM vs TJ needs to happen. Forget the 2 million dollars and just fight him.

That would be great, and I think it's the only champion vs champion fight
that could really happen in 2016.

If Aldo wins he may be fighting at 155 soon, he said there was an announcement after his fight with McGregor
