Chael Sonnen would beat Adasyana

Chael was a career journeyman who had 1 notable fight against injured Anderson while so cynically juiced that he was caught in the pre-USADA era. Izzy puts him away with ease.

To be fair if your T to E levels are 16.9:1 you should beat most men your size haga

Also to be fair to Izzy, he did throw up a triangle against Gastelum and we all know how that’d go.

That fight would actually be interesting. Say what you want about Chael but he charged across the ring 7 times against Anderson and against Jones so he’d definitely try to pressure Izzy.

Prime Chael would be the favorite against Izzy for sure

Oh look the fight he lost by choking at the last minute.

This isn't even a question. Prime Chael is undefeated and undisputed.

name something more dogshit than the threads on sherdog after an event, ill wait.
Jen Psaki trying to coop with hating her life and job while having to speak to reporters.

And his striking is light years worse. The reason Jan was effective against Izzy was because he had both threats. Sonnen poses zero threat standing, so his wrestling wouldn't be as effective.

I agree but at the same time Sonnen just went non-stop for the TD, didnt allow his opponent to settle, and he was very good attacking the legs with the power double which is what gives Israel the most problems.

I dont favour Chael in this match up but I do think he would give Israel more problems than any 185lber to date, at least in the early rounds.

Maybe even more important, his top control was top tier. It was impossible to get him off of you without submitting him.

Having said that, he was on TRT for the first Silva fight and it was still pre-usada afterward.

Nah, Sonnen was a great TD artist but his top control wasnt in the same caliber.
Okami, for example, had better top control than him but not as good TDs. By the way, Okami got taken down 4 times by Chael and he stoood up every single time.

People forget how dominant Chael was in his fights. Sure he found ways to lose, but damn. You look at his control time, his output compared to his opponents. He gets shit on a lot but the dude didn't' make it easy for anyone.

That's not saying I think without a doubt Sonnen could beat Izzy. But I think he'd put Izzy in some uncomfortable spots. I don't know that Izzy would pull off the sub Silva did but anything can happen.

Not even close, Chael would probably get a couple of takedowns but he would be forced to engage in order to get them, and there lies the danger...

I'd actually go with prime juiced chael in this hypothetical matchup
